Katrina pressed her lips together in silence, but the defiance in her eyes gave him his answer.
Naylor's brow furrowed, his expression turning thunderous. "Did you not hear a damn word I said the other day? That guy is bad news. You can't just ruin your whole life just to grant your mother's dying wish."
Katrina remained entirely unmoved. Because he was still gripping her chin, she was forced to keep her chin tipped up, meeting his furious gaze head-on.
"To grant my mother's dying wish, I wouldn't just ruin my life—I'd give up my life right this second if I had to," she stated with absolute finality.
Naylor: "..."
Seeing him so angry he was practically speechless, Katrina shot him a furious glare. "Let go of me!"
This time she managed to shake him off and tried to slip past him to open the door.
But the stall was tiny, and Naylor was a massive, immovable wall blocking her way. She couldn't even reach the latch.
"Naylor! This is the women's restroom! Have you no shame at all?!" Katrina was genuinely furious, completely stunned that someone of his status would pull such a despicable stunt.
If someone saw them walking out of here, what would they think?
They would definitely think she was cheap and shameless, completely unable to control herself in broad daylight, sneaking off for a quick hookup in a public bathroom!
"If you don't care about your reputation, I care about mine! Get out of my way!" Katrina yanked at him fiercely, but he didn't budge an inch.
A sudden wave of grievance washed over her. A lump formed in her throat, her eyes burned, and tears spilled down her cheeks.
Seeing her cry, Naylor's harsh demeanor instantly crumbled. "What are you crying for? It's not like I actually did anything to you."
"You haven't done anything? You're literally bullying me right now!" Katrina screamed at him.
Just as their voices echoed through the room, the sharp click-clack of high heels sounded outside. Katrina's heart leaped into her throat, and she instantly snapped her mouth shut in absolute silence.
As luck would have it, the newcomer opened the very next stall, and seconds later, the loud sound of rushing water echoed through the space.
The tension was unbearably thick. Katrina flushed furiously, her face burning red as she glared at him with even more ferocity.
Naylor finally realized how incredibly awkward the situation was. A bizarre look crossed his handsome face, but seeing her fierce glare, his pride kicked in. He suddenly reached up, covered her eyes with one hand, and lowered his head to capture her lips.
Katrina was absolutely stunned, unable to believe what was happening!
She tried to struggle, but his strong arm had her body pinned entirely against his. She wanted to scream for help, but she was terrified of drawing a crowd and getting them arrested for public indecency.
Caught in this humiliating, desperate trap, Naylor kissed her fiercely, seemingly pouring out all the pent-up frustration and rage he had been harboring for days.
It wasn't until a loud flush next door, followed by the sharp smack of the stall door opening, that their intense embrace was finally broken.
Infuriated beyond reason, Katrina raised her hand to slap him across the face.
But Naylor was ready for it. He snatched her wrist mid-air and locked it in an iron grip.
"Listen to me. Stay the hell away from that guy," he ordered in a low, warning whisper.
Katrina's eyes narrowed dangerously, and she spat through gritted teeth, "It's none of your business!"
The moment the words left her mouth, she capitalized on the fact that Naylor's hands were occupied restraining her arms. She violently drove her knee straight into his crotch!
Caught completely off guard, Naylor let out a muffled groan. His entire body folded over in agony, one hand instinctively clutching his groin while the other trembled as he pointed at Katrina, his face flushing a deep, purplish red.
As their eyes met, Katrina instantly remembered her brutal attack on his manhood. Feeling a rush of guilt, she assumed he had come seeking vengeance.
Keeping her face completely blank, she was about to walk right past him when Naylor's cold voice rang out. "I agree to the breakup, but there are a few things we need to clear up."
Katrina was stunned. She stopped in her tracks and looked back at him. "What else is there for us to talk about?"
"Heh. We've slept together enough times. How could we possibly have nothing to talk about?"
"..." Katrina fell silent, mortified and furious.
Naylor tilted his head toward the exit. "Let's go somewhere and sit down. Don't worry, I won't make things difficult for you."
"..." Katrina still kept her guard up.
But because a part of her still loved him deeply, she just couldn't bring herself to be completely heartless. Subconsciously, she still craved any time spent with him, even if that time was painfully fraught.
She turned silently and followed his lead.
Naylor brought her to his car and drove to a restaurant near the hospital.
Once they entered the private dining room, Katrina stood by the door, refusing to walk any further inside.
"Just say it. What exactly do you want? I need to get back to the hospital to stay with my mom."
Naylor strode to the back of the room and dropped into a wicker chair. Crossing his legs, he resumed his signature lazy, arrogant posture, looking like a total rogue.
"When you were chasing me, you were so bold and proactive. When did you turn into such a coward? If you take a few steps forward, am I going to eat you?" Naylor's mouth was incredibly toxic; whenever he found an opening, he couldn't resist throwing an insult.
