Ivy shot her husband a soothing glance before turning to Naylor. "You're the one Katrina loves. She’s only marrying this guy to give Willa peace of mind before she passes. She said she’ll figure out a way to get divorced after Willa is gone. Plus, she hasn't slept with him. She’s never been the easy type, otherwise she wouldn’t have let you have her first."

Ivy’s tone was sharp, clearly offended by Naylor's reckless claim that Katrina was pregnant, painting her best friend as some sort of tramp.

Chastised, Naylor pressed his lips together, realizing he was in the wrong, and fell silent.

"That guy doesn't seem right. I hired a private investigator to dig into him, but he’s been living in Australia for years, and apparently studied in Europe and the States, so tracing him is a headache," Naylor admitted. Despite claiming he didn't care, he had been worried sick behind the scenes.

"And what about you? Aren't you two best friends? Why didn't you talk her out of it? You're letting her jump into a fire," Naylor fired back, shifting the blame to Ivy.

"I tried, but she says she has no choice. She doesn't want Willa to be upset or to leave this world with regrets."

"It feels like you guys are just pushing me to play the villain."

"Hah," Jamison chimed in lazily. "As if you were ever the good guy."

Naylor glared at him.

Knowing Naylor hadn't entirely given up brought Ivy some relief, but she still warned him, "You better hurry up. Don't wait until she’s already married to find out what's wrong."

Naylor was already stressed, and Ivy’s prodding only made him more anxious, which immediately brought out his toxic streak again. "If that happens, then that's just her fate."

However, when the news reached the Lester family, it sparked massive drama.
