**Chapter 245: Stay Away From Her**
**Judy’s POV**
The world spun as I tumbled off Walter, the unforgiving ground meeting my lower back with a jarring thud. A sharp pang shot through me, but it was quickly overshadowed by a wave of dread as I caught sight of Gavin’s eyes, burning with fury. I hadn’t even realized he was home, and the intensity of his anger left me bewildered. Walter had merely been demonstrating some moves, intending to help me teach Matt more effectively.
“What do you think you’re doing??” Gavin’s voice thundered, each word laced with a primal rage that made my heart race. The wolf within him was stirring, ready to defend its territory.
Walter’s expression shifted from surprise to concern as he stood up, brushing off the dirt from his clothes.
“Uncle Gavin…” he started, attempting to address him, but his voice faltered, the weight of Gavin’s glare silencing him.
Gavin closed the distance between them, stopping just inches away, his anger palpable in the air. I felt a lump rise in my throat, a mix of fear and uncertainty, prompting me to take a cautious step back from the two Alphas. My gaze drifted to Ethan and Irene, and I noticed Ethan’s face was twisted in anger, while Irene appeared utterly perplexed, oblivious to the storm brewing around her.
“I invite you into my home, and this is how you repay me? Getting handsy with my staff? Are you out of your mind?” Gavin’s growl reverberated, a warning that sent shivers down my spine.
“I didn’t mean any disrespect,” Walter quickly defended himself, his voice steady but tinged with apprehension. “I was just trying to be helpful.”
“Dad, he wasn’t hurting her,” Matt interjected, stepping in beside his father, his tone earnest as he tried to ease the escalating tension. “He was only assisting. Besides, Judy could have taken him easily.”
Walter raised an eyebrow at Matt, then turned to me, a teasing smirk creeping onto his lips, which made my cheeks flush.
“Is that so?” Walter’s voice took on a flirtatious tone, a playful challenge that only seemed to stoke the flames of Gavin’s fury further.
In a flash, Gavin’s hand shot out, gripping Walter’s throat and lifting him off the ground. Walter gasped, his eyes widening in shock as he struggled to catch his breath.
“You’re only the next Alpha of your pack because of me!” Gavin growled, his voice low and threatening. “I could take it all away in an instant.”
Walter’s complexion drained of color as he clawed at Gavin’s hand, desperately trying to loosen the chokehold.
“Alpha, please,” I blurted out, panic rising within me. I couldn’t bear to watch Walter suffer any longer. “He hasn’t done anything wrong. There’s no need for this.”
“Uncle…” Walter croaked, his voice barely a whisper, his face turning a shade of crimson from the lack of air.
“Stay away from her and any of my other employees. They are not your playthings, Walter,” Gavin warned, finally releasing his grip. Walter crumpled to the ground, coughing violently as he gasped for air. I instinctively moved toward him, but Irene’s hand clamped around my arm, stopping me. When I met her eyes, she shook her head slightly, a silent reminder that intervening would only escalate Gavin’s wrath. The look on Ethan’s face confirmed my fears; he was equally displeased, and perhaps it was better that way. After all, if he lost his cool, maybe Irene would finally see his true nature.
I took a deep breath, steadying myself as I turned back to Walter, who was now rubbing his sore throat, anger flickering in his eyes. Even he understood the gravity of provoking an Alpha, and he kept quiet, collecting himself as he pushed himself back to his feet.
“Tutoring is over for the day,” Gavin barked, his tone leaving no room for argument. “I’ll have my driver take you home.”
With that, he pivoted on his heel and stormed away, leaving us in stunned silence, our expressions a mix of shock and confusion.
“What the hell was that about?” Walter rasped once Gavin was safely inside the villa, his voice still strained.
“He’s protective of his employees,” I murmured, my gaze fixed on the ground, warmth flooding my cheeks from the embarrassment of the scene.
“I don’t think that’s the whole story,” Irene muttered under her breath, her eyes narrowing slightly as she regarded me.
Confusion washed over me. “What do you mean?”
She shrugged, a knowing smile creeping onto her lips. “He’s not like that with all his employees. Only with you.”
“I’ve never seen him act like that with the other staff,” Matt chimed in, his eyes darting between us, clearly intrigued.
Irene smiled at him, and they exchanged glances that stirred a hint of irritation within me.
“Come on, Matt. Let’s go inside,” she said, wrapping her arm around him possessively.
She extended her hand to Ethan, but he remained rooted in place, his gaze locked onto mine, simmering with unspoken emotions. I realized then that Irene had finally noticed the tension between us.
“Ethan?” she asked, her voice tinged with concern as she glanced back and forth between us. “Is everything okay?”
He pressed his lips together, still fixated on me, as if I were the only thing in his world at that moment.
“I fear that’s not entirely true, Walter. He’s a Lycan Chairman, and you know the Lycans hold dominion over the werewolf population,” I reminded him gently. “Your uncle wields immense power.”
“I’d like to see him try,” Walter murmured defiantly, folding his arms across his chest, a spark of rebellion igniting in his eyes.
I frowned at his stubbornness, then turned to gather my belongings, pulling my phone from my bag to check for messages, ignoring the weight of Walter’s gaze on me. Just as I was about to tuck my phone away, his voice broke through the silence.
“Can I give you my number?”
I froze, turning to face him, surprise etched on my features.
“Is that wise?” I questioned, uncertainty creeping into my voice.
He shrugged, a cheeky grin spreading across his face. “Probably not,” he admitted. “But maybe we could do more training. Or something else…”
My cheeks flushed at his words, the implication hanging in the air between us.
“Something else?” I echoed, raising my brows, curiosity piqued.
He stepped closer, and I felt the warmth of his hand brush against my arm; it was a gentle touch, yet it sent a thrill through me. I glanced up at him, my heart racing, waiting for him to elaborate.
“I’d like to take you to dinner sometime,” he confessed, his gaze sincere. “I’ve never met anyone as beautiful as you, Judy. You’re smart, strong, and quick on your feet. Let me show you how a man treats a woman. Let me take you out tonight.”
I stared at him, disbelief washing over me. Was he truly asking me out after everything that had just transpired? After his uncle had threatened him and nearly choked him to death?
I glanced around, half-expecting Gavin to reappear at any moment, but it was Walter’s gentle grip on my chin that drew my attention back to him. He tilted my head, ensuring I was looking directly into his eyes.
“Say yes,” he urged softly, his breath brushing against my lips. “Let me show you how a man treats a woman. Let me take you out tonight.”
After a heartbeat of silence, his face so close to mine that I could almost taste the tension in the air, I finally whispered, “Okay… yes.”
