**Chapter 382: Ethan’s Plan**
As the car rolled to a stop outside the lavish resort, Daisy turned to Ethan, her brow furrowed in confusion. “Can you remind me again why we decided to come to this country?” she asked, her voice laced with skepticism.
Ethan’s lips curled into a confident grin as he stepped out into the warm air, inhaling deeply. The sweet scent of his mate, Judy, danced in the breeze, igniting a primal hunger within him that made his heart race and his body respond instinctively. He had made up his mind—Judy was his, and he would fight tooth and nail to keep her by his side. Levi would have his desires fulfilled, and Ethan would claim his own.
“You’re hoping to catch Alpha Landry’s attention, aren’t you?” Ethan teased, raising an eyebrow playfully at her.
Daisy bit her lower lip, a mixture of excitement and fear flickering in her eyes before she nodded. “You know I do. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted, and I will fight for him until my dying breath,” she declared, her determination shining through. The love she held for Gavin was woven into the very fabric of her being—she had been raised to cherish him, and his family adored her, wanting nothing more than to see them wed. She would stop at nothing to make that dream a reality.
“Gavin Landry is here,” Ethan explained, his tone serious. “This is your chance to charm him. My focus is on Judy. If we can keep them apart, we’ll both get what we desire.”
Daisy’s eyes narrowed with doubt. “And you’re confident this will work?” she pressed, her voice tinged with anxiety. The thought of facing Gavin again, only to be humiliated, sent a shiver down her spine.
Ethan smirked, a glint of mischief in his eyes. “Trust me, Daisy,” he reassured her. “It’s just a matter of time before Judy shows her true colors.”
After checking into their room, they made their way to the conference room where Alpha Levi awaited them. As they entered, Levi sat alone at the long wooden table, his fingers rhythmically tapping against its surface, a silent metronome of his impatience. He scrutinized them with a piercing gaze before gesturing for them to take a seat across from him.
Without hesitation, they complied, the atmosphere thick with unspoken tension.
Levi slid a folder across the table, his eyes narrowing as he spoke. “This contains everything you need,” he said, his voice low and clipped. “Inside, you’ll find room numbers and keys for both Judy and Gavin. Use them wisely.”
Daisy’s brow furrowed in confusion as she folded her arms defensively. “I don’t understand,” she admitted, glancing at Ethan before turning back to Levi. “What’s in it for you? Why are you helping us like this?”
“That’s my business,” Levi replied, his tone bitter, his icy gaze locking onto Daisy’s. She felt a chill run down her spine, as if she were striking a deal with a serpent poised to strike. “You may leave now,” he dismissed them with a wave of his hand, as if they were nothing more than an annoyance.
Ethan stood up immediately, knowing the way out, but Daisy hesitated, her eyes lingering on Levi’s.
“No harm will come to him, right?” she asked, her voice steadier than she felt, a flicker of worry crossing her features.
Levi merely smirked, a dark shadow passing over his face. He didn’t need to answer; the silence was deafening, and Daisy felt a chill of dread settle in her gut. Ethan, sensing her distress, grabbed her arm and yanked her to her feet, causing her to stumble slightly. She shot him a bewildered look, confusion painting her features.
“Let’s go,” he said through clenched teeth, dragging her out of the conference room. As the door closed behind them, the echo of Levi’s dark chuckle lingered in the air, heightening Daisy’s sense of unease.
Once they were a safe distance away, Daisy pulled her arm free from Ethan’s grip, her expression hardening. “Why are you working with him? You know he wants to see Gavin fall, right? He’s been his greatest enemy for years,” she said, her eyes narrowing with suspicion. “You can’t trust him.”
“Because he’s the only one who can help me get what I want,” Ethan replied, his voice low and intense. “He’ll break Gavin down, and then you’ll be there to pick up the pieces and put him back together. Meanwhile, I’ll be off with my mate, finally leading the Redmoon pack with her at my side, just as it was meant to be from the beginning.”
“Do you genuinely believe this plan will succeed?” Daisy questioned, her voice laced with doubt.
“Absolutely,” he asserted without hesitation. “But we need to collaborate to ensure it works. Now, I need to know—are you with me, or against me?”
**Gavin’s POV**
“Delta Montague will be released from prison later this evening,” Beta Taylor informed me over the phone, his voice steady. “And his house has been repurchased from the Cash family, so we shouldn’t face any further complications.”
“Make sure he can continue his business without any hitches. I don’t want him worrying about anything else,” I ordered, my voice firm.
I swallowed hard, my jaw tightening. The last thing I wanted was to be seen with Daisy Baldwin; her motives had never been pure, not since I married Melissa all those years ago. I didn’t trust her, and she was well aware of it.
“Don’t look at me like that, Gavin. It hurts my feelings… and trust me, you won’t like me when my feelings are hurt,” she warned, a dark glint in her eyes that set my wolf on edge.
“Don’t you dare threaten me,” I growled in a low, menacing tone.
She stepped closer, her lips brushing against my ear as she whispered, “It would be such a shame if your secrets were revealed to your precious Judy.”
Fury ignited within me, and I clenched my fists, nails digging into my palms. “You’re asking for trouble, Daisy,” I hissed, my voice barely contained.
She giggled, stepping back slightly. “It doesn’t matter if you kill me. I’m not the only one here who knows. Did you really think she wasn’t being watched?”
Panic surged through me at the thought of others lurking nearby, aware of my secrets, keeping a watchful eye on Judy, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. I wanted to grab her and flee this country, to take her somewhere safe, far away from this mess.
Daisy smirked again, relishing in my turmoil. “Just dinner, and I’ll ensure your secret remains hidden from her.”
I swallowed hard, feeling my resolve waver. “Just dinner?” I asked, my defenses beginning to crack.
“Yes,” she confirmed, crossing her arms defiantly.
“Fine,” I muttered, the weight of the situation heavy on my shoulders. “I’ll pick you up tonight, but Daisy, if you breathe a word of this to anyone… I’ll make sure my face is the last one you see.”
With that ominous threat hanging in the air, I turned and stormed out, my mind racing with the implications of what lay ahead.
