**Chapter 392: Crossed The Line**
**Judy’s POV**
I stood frozen, my heart racing as I heard Gavin’s furious growl echo through the hallway, a sound so primal it felt like it could shake the very foundations of the building. My mouth hung open in disbelief as I watched him storm away, the intensity of his anger palpable.
What on earth just transpired?
Time seemed to stretch endlessly as I remained there, caught in a whirlwind of confusion and dread. It wasn’t long before Sammy, Tabby, Nan, and Irene came rushing into the hallway, their faces a mixture of concern and curiosity. Irene, breathless and wide-eyed, scanned the area, her father’s furious roar still reverberating in her ears.
“Where did he go?” she asked, her voice tight with worry. “Is he okay?”
“I… I don’t know,” I managed to whisper, my body trembling slightly, the weight of the moment pressing down on me.
“You’ve been crying,” Tabby observed gently, her hand resting on my arm in a comforting gesture. “Did he say something to hurt you?”
All their eyes were fixed on me, and I felt the weight of their concern pressing in. How could I possibly explain the chaos that had just unfolded?
“I told him I saw Daisy last night… in his suite. He just… lost it and left,” I confessed, my voice barely above a breathless murmur.
Irene narrowed her eyes, confusion and disbelief mingling in her expression.
“What the hell are you talking about?” she shot back, her tone sharp.
I met her gaze, feeling the gravity of my words.
“Your aunt Daisy. She was in his suite last night…”
“Yeah, they went out to dinner; it lasted like an hour,” she interjected, rolling her eyes dismissively. “My aunt is relentless, but he managed to entertain her for that long.”
I frowned, a deep sense of unease settling in my gut.
“She was in his suite, Irene. I saw her. I spoke to her. She was wearing nothing but a bathrobe and said that Gavin was in the shower,” I explained, urgency creeping into my voice.
Suddenly, her expression shifted, panic dawning on her face, and she looked ready to bolt in the direction her father had gone.
“Irene?” I called out, desperate to pull her back from the edge of her rising anxiety. She looked like she was on the verge of a panic attack.
“I knew she would pull something like this,” she said through clenched teeth, her anger simmering just beneath the surface. “I wanted him.”
“Warned him?” I asked, confusion swirling in my mind. “About what?”
“About my bitch of an aunt. I knew she would pull something like this,” Irene hissed, her eyes flashing with fury.
I felt lost, as did the others, it seemed.
Irene took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure.
“My father wasn’t in the suite last night; at least not until super late. He was with Matt and me… we were out for a while, having family time. When we came back, we thought we smelled something different, but we were too exhausted to question it,” she explained, her voice shaking slightly.
My heart sank, dread pooling in my stomach as I stared at her, my eyes wide in disbelief.
“What?” I managed to utter, my voice sounding hollow and distant.
“Daisy broke into our suite last night and left before we got back,” Irene revealed, her voice filled with a mix of anger and disbelief.
I exhaled sharply, my heart plummeting even further.
“Holly shit…”
**Gavin’s POV**
Rage consumed me.
There was nothing that could rival the fury boiling within me at this moment. All I felt was an overwhelming anger directed squarely at Daisy Baldwin. I knew her game, and I refused to let her get away with it.
She had invaded my hotel suite, a sacred space where I shared precious moments with my children. She had hurt Judy, leaving her feeling vulnerable and betrayed. Daisy had crossed a line that should never have been crossed, and I was determined to put an end to her antics today, no matter what it took.
Daisy was perched at the bar, flanked by a couple of gentlemen, her usual flirtatious demeanor on full display as she twirled her hair and coaxed them into ordering more drinks. It baffled me that she hadn’t shown up at the ceremony, knowing full well I would be there. But then again, it was clear she preferred the bar scene.
“Come with me,” I commanded, my tone devoid of any pleasantries.
One of the men turned to face me, ready to challenge me, but the dangerous intensity in my eyes made him reconsider. The moment they recognized who I was, their bravado evaporated, and they stepped aside, allowing me to approach Daisy.
She looked up at me, her eyes widening as she took in my furious demeanor.
“Aunt Daisy, why would you do something like that?” Irene demanded, her voice filled with disbelief.
Daisy kept her gaze fixed on me, but she answered Irene.
“Because it was supposed to be me. I was supposed to be the one warming your father’s bed, but instead, he found himself a pretty little whore.”
Without another word, I seized her throat, cutting off her air supply, rendering her unable to speak. Her eyes bulged with panic as she struggled to breathe, her hands flailing against mine as she begged me with her gaze to loosen my grip. But I was far beyond the point of caring whether she lived or died.
“Dad, you’re going to kill her!” Irene shouted, her voice laced with desperation. “Loosen your grip!”
Daisy’s face began to flush as she tapped frantically against the wall, her movements growing more frantic as the life drained from her pathetic visage.
“Ethan…” I heard Judy whisper behind me, her voice barely above a whisper.
“What?” Irene asked, confusion evident in her tone.
“She’s spelling out Ethan’s name using Morse code,” Judy pointed out, her eyes wide with realization as she indicated Daisy’s trembling hands against the wall. I recognized the pattern; I had been trained in Morse code too, and she was indeed tapping out Ethan’s name.
I reluctantly loosened my grip, allowing her to draw a desperate breath, her lungs filling with air as she coughed violently. Tears streamed down her face as she attempted to wipe them away.
“Guess you’re not as dumb as I thought,” she croaked, rubbing her sore and reddened neck.
“What about Ethan?” Judy pressed, her voice sharp with urgency. “What does he have to do with anything?”
Daisy narrowed her eyes, a sly smile creeping across her face.
“He has everything to do with this,” she replied, her tone dripping with malice. “Who do you think put me up to this?”
“What?” Judy’s voice came out hollow, disbelief flooding her features.
I stepped back from Daisy, the weight of the situation crashing down on me like a tidal wave.
“What the hell are you talking about?” I demanded, my voice rising in intensity.
Daisy took a moment to collect herself before responding, her smugness evident.
“Your girlfriend’s ex-mate is here and wants you out of the way. So, we came up with this plan together. Clever, aren’t we?”
