Ethan came back on the third morning. While sitting in the car, he didn’t forget to ask David to bring him a gift.
“David, help me deliver the pink diamond necklace I bought a few days ago to the villa”
David responded with a “okay” and hung up the phone before preparing the necklace. At that moment, Ethan had just stepped into the villa.
When he passed by the restaurant, he immediately noticed the table full of unfinished meals that had not been cleared away.
He paused for a moment, and when he lifted his foot, his steps unconsciously turned towards the restaurant. It was summer, and the food that had been
left for two days and two nights had lost its original appearance, fragrance, and taste. Instead, it emitted a faint unpleasant smell.
For
some reason, he seemed to have actually seen the stubborn Evelyn sitting in front of the table, with her head down and only occasionally looking up at the time, without any other movements.
Until the end, this table of food remained untouched, just like the person who prepared them, no one came to taste them.
His throat suddenly felt a bit sour, but he still walked out of the restaurant. He called the maid responsible for cleaning the house and asked her to come and deal with the table of food quickly.
“Evelyn,” he called out her name instinctively, but this time there was no response. He paused for a moment, only to realize that Evelyn must have already gone to school.
Ethan sat down on the sofa in the living room, rubbing his forehead. However, with a casual glance, he saw two bank cards and a note placed in the most prominent position.
He took the note, but suddenly froze when he saw the content on the note,
Uncle, I took 999 steps towards you in this relationship, but now I have given up
I didn’t regret in the past and present, I hope you don’t either.

For some reason, Ethan suddenly felt a bit flustered in his heart. He took out his phone and dialed the familiar number, but in the end, he only heard the emotionless electronic female voice in the phone, announcing that the number was temporarily unavailable.

His dark face made vid too afraid to ask anything, so he hurriedly handed over the necklace and left the villa. It wasn’t until he w the villa’s range that he finally breathed a sigh of relief

In the next moment, a low–key luxurious Maybach raced past him, scaring him so much that his legs went weak and he almost collapsed on the ground.
On the other hand, Ethan raced all the way to the house he had bought near Cyndale Institute of Technology. He burst into the room with great momentum, wanting to confront Evelyn and demand an explanation.
Only after he entered did he realize that there were no traces of anyone having lived in the room

Ch 50 Beginning of 4th Short story. Only 1 page. Incomplete. Summary from reading elsewhere: The world’s perfect couple. Husband is famous CEO who deals in jewelry and designed signature pieces for his beloved and doted on wife. To the world, and to her, they are they perfect loving couple, until she finds out he is having an affair with his Secretary. I can’t remember if it was a physical one or emotional (I can’t recall the correct name for it) one. Long story short, since she told him when she first agreed to be with him that if he ever betrayed her she would disappear from his world, she staged her suicide whilst exposing his affair (I think he also made custom designs for that woman or let her wear his signature piece for her) to the world. She moved abroad and opened a flower shop or something. He eventually finds her but I think she had quietly started dating someone else. Trying not to mix up stories. End the end, she doesn’t go back, he is miserable and regrets, I think he works himself to death, dies early and leaves everything to her....
Ch 49 End of Short Story 3. Too Late to Regret, I’ll call it. I like that she didn’t change her mind and she had valid points because even after realizing Carina’s presence and neediness and his catering to her ruined his family, he still hasn’t sent her packing. He could have had another friend hire her as a Secretary after regaining all the memories, but even after losing his wife and son behind his dealings with her and neglect of his wife and how he started to see her, he still indulged this woman and kept her on. I don’t like how the child isn’t mentioned in the end or how Wayne ended up in the end....
Ch 48 Oh, I like how this went. They both remain the same age but their circumstances changed… well hers did, and they just popped into the life they would have had. But that means theirs a child somewhere without parents but with his memories intact of who his parents were supposed to be since they kept their bodies....

He doesn’t find it odd that she knew where it was and since it was pink she would think it was for her? He thinks she needs him so he can do whatever he wants. I’m already not liking her thinking to make him change their past to fix their future. Leave him. He had the opportunity to do things right the first 7 sevens and correct mistakes in the last 5 with Carina....
