The secluded island in South City lay quiet beneath the morning sun as the car finally came to a stop. The air was still, untouched by the chaos they had left behind.
Lila stepped out first, followed by the young driver who had accompanied her the entire journey.
“You won’t change your name?” Lila asked, glancing at him.
The young man shook his head. “No… there’s no need.”
Lila studied him for a moment. “What is your name?”
“I’m Marlou,” he answered simply.
A small smile formed on Lila’s lips. “Alright, Marlou. From now on, you are my brother.”
Marlou looked slightly surprised but nodded. There was something reassuring in her words-something that felt like belonging.
They stopped in front of a modest house tucked among coconut trees. Without hesitation, Lila walked up to the door.
“Ina!” she called.
The door swung open almost immediately. Ina rushed out, her face filled with worry that quickly melted into relief as she pulled Lila into a tight embrace.
“Lila! Oh my gosh, I was so nervous when you called and told me to leave the estate immediately,” Ina said breathlessly. “I thought something had happened to you. I tried calling you so many times…”
“I’m okay,” Lila reassured her gently. “I just turned my phone off.”
Ina pulled back, still visibly shaken, but nodded. “Come inside.”
They entered the house, and Lila’s sharp eyes immediately scanned the surroundings. The living room was simple but clean. She moved toward the kitchen-and froze.
There, seated calmly at the table, was Damian, eating breakfast. Beside him sat a young woman.
Lila turned slowly to Ina.
Ina sighed. “She saw us leaving the estate. I didn’t have a choice-I had to bring her with us.”
The young woman quickly stood and bowed her head. “Good morning, Madam,” she said politely. “I’m Jenny.”
Lila nodded once, then walked over to Damian. Without hesitation, she sat beside him and wrapped her arms around him in a brief, protective embrace.

Then she turned to Jenny, her expression softening.
“Starting today, you don’t have to call me ‘Madam,” Lila said. “You can call me ‘Sis’… or Lila.”
Jenny looked up, surprised, but nodded. “Yes… Lila.”
Lila gestured toward the doorway. “That’s Marlou,” she added. “He’s with us.”
Marlou gave a small, respectful nod from where he stood.
“Come in,” Lila said. “Let’s eat first.”
Jenny quickly moved to prepare and serve the food. Soon, everyone was seated around the table.

For a brief moment, as they shared a quiet meal together, the fear and chaos of the previous night seemed distant-almost forgotten.
But beneath the calm, something unspoken lingered… waiting.
In front of the house stretched a wide white sand beach. The sun warmed the shore, while the gentle breeze and the sound of the waves slowly washed away the adrenaline and chaos of the night before.
Lila and her newly built family tried to enjoy the quiet.
Out in the water, Damian, Jenny, and Marlou laughed as they played in the sea, their voices light against the steady rhythm of the waves.
On the sand, Lila and Ina sat side by side, watching them.
A long silence passed before Ina finally spoke.
“Lila…” she said softly, “is there something you want to tell me?”
Lila smiled faintly. She glanced back at the house, then turned her gaze toward the sea again before answering.
“I bought this house secretly,” she said, finally looking at Ina. “Back when I was so determined to leave
Damon.”
She paused, then added quietly, “I guess…. I was right back then.”
Ina hummed, listening closely.
“Maddy called it a last challenge,” Lila continued. “She wanted to see if she still mattered to Damon. I accepted.”
Ina’s expression slowly tightened.
“Damon bid for her… and he didn’t bid for me,” Lila said, her voice steady but distant. “I was able to escape whoever bought me because of Marlou. He agreed to come with me… and leave his boss.”

Ina froze. Then she suddenly grabbed Lila by the shoulders.

“You threw yourself into an auction?” Ina’s voice shook with anger. “Just to prove that filthy dog really loves you?”
Lila stayed silent.
“And you failed!” Ina continued. “If that man hadn’t agreed, do you even know how dangerous that was? Are you that crazy in love with that damn Damon?”
Lila lowered her eyes, her composure slipping.
“I know… I was wrong, okay?” she said softly. “I should have just left when she challenged me. I just… wanted to see it in my own eyes.”
The waves rolled gently onto the shore, filling the silence between them.
“But… maybe it’s a good thing too,” Lila added, forcing a faint smile. “Since Damon believes I was bought, he can’t drag me back… right?”
Ina shook her head slowly, still in disbelief. “You’re out of your mind, Lila.”
Silence settled between them once more.
After a moment, Ina asked more gently, “Does Mark know?”
Lila shook her head.
“No… I haven’t called him,” she said. “He just told me to trust him… and stay away from Eric.”
Her eyes drifted back to the vast sea-endless and uncertain.
Behind them, laughter echoed from the water.
But where they sat, the truth lingered… quiet, heavy, and far from over.
After enjoying the warmth of the sun and the calm of the sea, they slowly made their way back.
Jenny packed up their things first and headed toward the house, while the others followed not long after.
Inside, Lila carried Damian to his room. She gently laid him on the bed, brushing a few strands of hair from his face. Her fingers lingered, caressing his small cheek-so soft, so innocent.
For a moment, her chest tightened.
He looked so much like Damon.
Lila swallowed the thought and pulled the blanket over him, pressing a soft kiss on his forehead before quietly stepping out.
Downstairs, the house was alive with simple movement-Jenny in the kitchen, Marlou fixing something by

Lila made her way to the study room and sat down, pulling out a stack of papers. She took a deep breath and began preparing documents-plans for something new, something theirs.
A soft knock came at the door.
Ina slipped inside.
“I bought a small stall in the nearby town,” Lila said without looking up. “We can build a coffee shop there… or maybe a flower shop. What do you think?”
Ina’s face brightened. “Why not both?” she said with a smile. “A coffee shop and a flower shop.”
Lila looked up, a genuine smile forming. “That sounds perfect.”
“And you,” Lila added, pointing lightly at Ina, “will be my accounting manager.”
Ina chuckled. “Of course.”
They leaned closer over the papers, discussing ideas-menu options, flower arrangements, designs for the stall. Soon, their voices turned lighter, laughter slipping in between plans.
The thought of brewing coffee while arranging fresh flowers felt almost dreamlike.
For the first time, their future didn’t feel uncertain-it felt possible.
“Dinner’s ready!” Jenny called from downstairs.
The two exchanged a glance before heading down.
That evening, the four of them sat together around the table, sharing a simple meal. The atmosphere was warm, filled with quiet conversation and small smiles.
Like a real family.
“Jenny,” Lila said gently, “have you called your parents?”
Jenny shook her head. “I wasn’t able to. My phone… I left it at the estate when Miss Ina dragged me with her.”
Ina winced slightly. “I’m really sorry, Jenny. I panicked when I saw you behind us. I thought you were going to stop us.” She softened, offering a small smile. “And… you can just call me Ina. We’re family now, right?”
Jenny nodded shyly. “Okay… Ina.”
“If you need to contact your parents, just tell me,” Lila added. “We’ll find a way.”
Jenny looked at her gratefully.
“Also,” Lila continued after a pause, “I was thinking… I want to use your name for our shop. Would that be okay?”

Jenny blinked in surprise. “My name?”
Lila nodded. “It’ll help us stay hidden… just in case.”
She didn’t need to say more.

If Damon ever tried to trace her, he wouldn’t think to look under Jenny’s name. After all, he never paid attention to his staff.
Jenny hesitated for a moment, then smiled softly. “I’d like that.”
Lila returned the smile.
For now, they were safe.
For now, they had each other.

And for the first time in a long while, Lila allowed herself to believe that maybe… just maybe… they could start again.
