Chapter 151-1
It was a change for both of us, even though we had both already lived as a couple before.
Alexander himself had changed since the incident in Wyoming, in more than one way, and for me it was even more evident now that we were together. Once I asked him why he was so eager to be back in Russia again (when technically he had escaped from his obligations ten years ago), and he answered that he felt ready to face the challenges of the position that would fall to him within his family. Although he would not succeed his father as leader of the wolf nation, he would hold a position very close to it and would always be alongside his brother Mikhail. His answer felt sincere, though with a touch of guilt.
You could sense there was more, but I did not meddle; we had agreed that I would stay aside when it came to werewolves.
Of course, we had an epic fight about that-our first fight as a couple. I didn’t want there to be secrets between us, and Alexander insisted that it wasn’t about that, but about protecting me. In fact, there would be no secrets: he would tell me whatever I wanted to know, anything -but I would not be able to intervene in the decisions he had to make if they concerned his people. It seemed fair once I calmed down enough to let him explain himself; Alexander kept insisting that it was better for me not to take part in any of that, so as not to give anyone grounds for complaint against me. I was the outsider, of course it would be natural for them not to trust me until I proved they could.
When Sasha left, I quickly got out of bed. We had to start the day, and it was a very important day. It was a Friday morning. Andre would turn ten on Saturday, and I was very anxious to make all the preparations to celebrate it.
It would be the first birthday being officially the children’s mother, and I wanted to do it right.
“Those uniforms look wonderful on you,” I commented, giving Alexander a soft squeeze on the backside as I passed him on my way to the bathroom. “You should wear them more
often.”
“…you should go naked more often, but I’m not complaining,” he replied with a smile. In response, I threw my nightgown at his chest and locked myself in the shower alone-l didn’t want distractions. I came out fifteen minutes later, and he was still waiting for me, sitting on the edge of the made bed in a softly beige room already tidy and impeccable. He had a very strict way of arranging things around him; nothing was ever out of place when Alexander was in the house.
I sat beside him while drying my hair and smiled.
“…tomorrow’s the day, huh?” I said with a pleased sigh.
“Yes, tomorow’s the day tomorrow Andre tussen and he will meer he Once te answered, with the relief of someone in werght from his shoulders. His first hurting trip, his first official training it will be a great day a very moment one”
“Why won’t you tell me anything about the boys you chose for tis Circle
“Because i want it to be a surprise for everyre”
I nodded and set one of the towels aside, untangling my hair with my fingers. There was something inadequate about all that, and I didn’t take long to ask the question it didn’t escape me
Obviously, if Alexander had rejected being Majority Alpha, why did his son-who would not be Majority Alpha in the future-have his own Circle? It was something I didn’t understand, but didn’t understand it because I didn’t know a very important part of the details
