The haze of want enveloping me crumbled like glass and my eyes flew wide open. My body went rigid for a moment as he loosened his fingers and pulled away, staring at the effect of his words on me.
I couldn’t pull up my walls fast enough and like an idiot let him see just how his words affected me.
I guess I deserved it.
My body and heart was already crying at the loss of his touch but I forced my hands to stay still, to not reach for him shamelessly again.
The girls he had been dancing with came to stand beside him, grabbing his shoulders on each side possessively and dragging him away from me.
He only watched me with that satisfied smirk. “Oh, you guys are here? I don’t even know who I was dancing with.”
His hands slid across both their waists and then the girls murmured something to him that was drowned out due to the music blasting through the speakers.
He flashed a devious smile at me and then turned around with both of them and I watched helplessly and miserably as he led them away from the dance floor and towards a marble staircase.
I looked up to see there were several doors upstairs, no doubt consisting of a cozy bed for people who wanted to take it ahead with their respective partners.
Connor was climbing the stairs up with both of them and my brain did a splendid job of imagining him satisfying them both as the girls moaned for him.
I shook my head as a hand tapped on my shoulder, dragging me out of my thoughts.
“Hey, where are you lost?”
Josh asked me.
“I thought I saw someone” I mumbled.
Josh placed a hand over my elbow.
“Come on, we should find Aaron. This was a double date after all”
“Aaron?” I mumbled, only now realizing that I had forgotten all about him because all of me had been fixated on Connor.
“Yeah, Aaron, your best friend?” Josh gave me a curious look and I nodded, “Of course, lets go find him.”
We stepped away from the dance floor and I cast one last look at Connor and found him slipping inside one

of the door with the girls.
The door shut behind him and I resisted the urge to go break that door because I had no right to do so.
“Tell you what, Aaron isn’t answering his phone. Just wait here, I’ll go look for him.” Josh said and then he disappeared into the crowd.
The light of the room Connor had entered with the two girls switched on and I could see their silhouettes through the window. The girls were tugging at his coat, which fell down on the floor.
My chest squeezed so tight I could barely breathe.
“This is what you wanted, I reminded myself savagely. ‘You pushed him away. Now live with it.’
I was in the process of consoling as well as scolding myself when I heard footsteps approach me.
I looked up, thinking it was Josh and Aaron but it was a group of three unknown men. They were also wearing masks and suits but they didn’t seem familiar at all.
“Are you alone, my dear?” One of them asked, looking at me sleazily while the other two raked me up and down.
“I’m with someone” I said curtly and looked away but they didn’t take the hint.
“Looks like you’re just shy, beautiful,” the second one drawled, stepping too close. “Why don’t you join us? We know how to show a girl a very good time.”
The trio laughed like he had cracked a big joke.
“Josh! Aaron!” I screamed aloud, hoping to deter these men but they were wasted and couldn’t take no for an
answer.
“Oh forget them” the third one came even closer and whispered in my ear. “Once you get a taste of us, you will forget everybody else.”
“I said, leave me alone or I’ll call security” I warned but that made the first one laugh.
“Who is going to hear you over this music, sweetheart? Come on, be nice. We have plenty of money and skill between us, babe. Let us show you…”
When I realized talking to them was useless, I gathered my skirts in my hands and bumped into the shoulders of one of them, trying to knock him off.
I barely made it a few steps away from them but the combination of the full skirt and heels was a huge hindrance to my speed.
“Don’t let her get away!” I heard one shout as they all lunged for me and then caged me in between them.
I opened my mouth to shout and a hand came from behind me and covered it.
“We were nice with you but you left us no option, bitch!” The tallest of them snarled and then I felt my legs
