Chapter 108

:

I woke to the sound of voices that did not bother to soften themselves.

They were loud, careless, and disturbingly cheerful, their laughter cutting through the air as though nothing in this place could possibly be wrong. That sound alone made my chest tighten, because joy did not belong here, not in a room that smelled of damp concrete, rusted metal, and the lingering trace of fear that clung to my skin.

“Tonight, we are finally leaving,” one of them said with a laugh that echoed against the walls. “About time.”

My heart lurched violently in my chest, pounding so hard it felt as though it might break through my

ribs.

That single word carried too much meaning, too many consequences. Leaving meant movement, disappearance, and distance that could not be crossed. Leaving meant that whatever fragile chance Tadashi still had of finding me would dissolve into nothing but saltwater and shadows.

“In time,” another voice replied, sharp with irritation but edged with relief. “I have been worried sick. That Masayoshi man keeps appearing everywhere. He is getting suspicious.”

Masayoshi.

The name struck me like lightning.

Tadashi?

Hope flared inside me so suddenly that it almost hurt, sharp and blinding in its intensity. He was close. Close enough to frighten them. Close enough to force them to act hastily, to abandon caution.

My fingers curled weakly against the floor as my pulse raced, my mind clinging desperately to that single thought. If he was searching, if he was tearing the world apart to find me, then this nightmare was not finished yet.

“How long until we arrive?” another man asked casually. “At least we should take women with us.”

Cold dread slid through my veins, heavy and suffocating.

I understood immediately what he meant. I understood why they wanted women, and the knowledge twisted my stomach until nausea threatened to overwhelm me.

“Why can we not play with her first?” someone scoffed, laughter thick with cruelty.

“No,” another voice snapped, followed by the sharp sound of impact. “She is the king’s property, you idiot.”

The word echoed in my mind like a sentence carved into stone.

Property,

My hands trembled as fear coiled tightly around my lungs. I did not know whether to feel relief or terror knowing that what awaited me later was considered worse than what they wanted now.

Either way, there was no future here that did not end in ruin.

I could not let them take me.

I could not let them move me beyond this place.

I lay still for a moment, forcing my breathing to steady despite the panic roaring inside my head. My body was battered, bruised, aching in ways that made even the smallest movement painful, but pain no longer frightened me.

What frightened me was surrender.

Fight, Naomi, I told myself fiercely. You are still alive. You are still here. You are not finished.

I forced my body to convulse, dragging a violent gag from my throat as I bent forward sharply.

I retched, coughing harshly, producing the most unpleasant, wet sounds I could manage, my shoulders shaking as though sickness had finally overtaken me.

The reaction was immediate.

“Disgusting,” one of them spat. “Take her away. I will not have the boat smelling like this.”

Hands seized me roughly, yanking me upright, dragging me across the floor with little regard for my footing. My head remained bowed, not from submission, but to hide the frantic calculation burning behind my eyes.

The door opened.

Fresh air struck my face like a shock, sharp and cold.

I smelled salt, oil, and the unmistakable scent of the sea.

The pier.

ribs.

Still close enough that escape might be possible,

The man shoved me forward, forcing me into a narrow restroom with enough force to send me stumbling.

“Clean yourself,” he ordered coldly. “Hurry.”

The door slammed shut.

For a single, fragile moment, I was alone.

I lifted my head slowly, breathing hard, my heart pounding so loudly I feared it could be heard through the thin walls. I scanned the room desperately.

A sink.

A cracked mirror.

A trash bin.

Nothing useful. Nothing that resembled safety.

Still, I splashed water onto my face quickly, letting the movement steady me, grounding my thoughts. I needed time. A delay. A mistake from them.

Heavy banging shook the door.

“Hurry up,” a voice barked. “What are you doing in there?”

My hand reached for the door, but it opened before I could touch it.

The man standing there was not the one who had dragged me inside.

This one carried himself differently. His posture was confident, his gaze cold and assessing, sharp with ownership. I recognized him immediately, not by name, but by the way authority clung to him.

King Shaka’s right hand.

The man who had chosen me.

“What is she doing here?” he demanded, turning toward the others.

The man behind him swallowed nervously. “She was sick, so I thought-

“Leave,” he ordered.

The other man vanished without hesitation.

The door closed.

And we were alone.

My breathing turned shallow, uneven.

His gaze roamed over me without shame, lingering in a way that made my skin crawl. There was hunger there, open and unrestrained, and it took everything I had not to recoil completely.

“Every time I see you,” he murmured, stepping closer, ” God, you know, I lose control.”

No….

“Do not come any closer,” I said hoarsely, my voice weak but steady, even as my hands searched for something, anything, to defend myself.

He laughed softly, as though amused by my defiance.

“You are courageous,” he said. “That makes this interesting. Well… You’re not a virgin so…”

He closed the distance in two long strides.

“NO….!!!!” I fought.

“LET ME GO, NOOOO..!!!!!!!” I screamed.

I kicked, struck, clawed with every shred of strength left in me, my voice tearing itself apart as terror surged through my body. My movements were slow, my limbs heavy, but desperation gave me strength that pain could not erase.

“NO, HELP ME,” I screamed. “PLEASE NO..!!!! HELP MEEE…!!!!!”

The sound vanished uselessly into the walls.

He lifted me with ease, my world spinning violently as my feet left the ground. Panic consumed me fully, my screams breaking into sobs as I fought with everything I had left.

SMACK..!!!!!

“Shut

up and enjoy it” He spat and start undressed me roughly.
