The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 739

Lavinia obviously wasn't going to drink herself to death. After forcing down one bottle, she feigned intense intoxication and collapsed dramatically into Ellison's arms. He hurriedly caught her and stopped her from reaching for another bottle.

"Your stomach can't handle this much alcohol," he scolded softly.

Lavinia whimpered, "But Marin... she still won't forgive me..."

"She already forgave you."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Ellison, when did I ever say I forgave her?" Marin demanded, her voice like ice.

Ellison let out a heavy sigh. "I forgave her on your behalf."

"What gave you the right?"

"The fact that I'm your husband and your boss!"

"So, is it my husband or my boss forcing me to forgive her?"

Ellison paused for a moment. "From a corporate standpoint, I believe Lavinia is more than capable of handling her responsibilities, so I won't allow someone to abuse their power to fire a hardworking young employee. And as your husband, I expect my wife to be a reasonable, broad-minded woman who can be tolerant of the people around me."

Marin stood up. Looking down at the man who was tightly holding another woman right in front of her face, her voice was laced with utter disappointment. "Ellison, you are a terrible boss, and an even worse husband. I'm quitting, and I'm divorcing you."

Hearing Marin genuinely bring up divorce caught Ellison completely off guard. "Do you... do you have any idea what you're saying?"

"I'm divorcing you."

Seeing the absolute resolve in Marin's eyes, panic finally flickered across Ellison's face.

"I refuse! There is absolutely nothing wrong with our marriage, and I have never done anything to betray you! You have no grounds for a divorce! I won't agree to it. Don't even think about it!"

"If you won't sign, I'll sue you. I've already made my decision."

Marin remained perfectly calm. Ignoring Ellison's outrage, she grabbed Penelope's hand and walked right out of her own home.
