Fenja learned that her parents were still in the pack, they refused to leave before they could meet with Fenja and the warriors couldn’t do anything, aside from preventing them from coming closer to the alpha’s building. They couldn’t truly chase them out, since the other person was an alpha too and it could cause a battle between the pack.

The warriors needed Fenja’s clear confirmation to throw them out of the pack, because that was the only way to get rid of them, yet it would ruin the relationship between the two packs deeply.

Therefore, they needed Fenja’s direct order, a clear one, if that was what Fenja wanted, because after that, there wouldn’t be a turning back.

The relationship between two packs wouldn’t be the same. After all, this was a humiliation.

“What we should do now, luna?” Fern asked carefully.

“Let them stay.” Fenja then added. “But, don’t let them get inside the alpha’s building. I don’t want them around and do not allow them to roam the pack as they please.”

A week later, Kane came to visit her and check her condition with Arya. Both of them learned what happened, but they couldn’t leave the battlefield just yet because the constant attack from the Sakaris Kingdom.

Only when Kane led the warriors himself and killed another alpha, they finally retreated. But, it wouldn’t take sc long before they came with full force to get their revenge.

After all, within less than half a year, two of their alphas were killed.

“It’s amazing that you can kill their alpha,” Fenja said weakly, she was tired easily, even when she played with Jaxon, she couldn’t do it for long. She couldn’t even keep up with her son, because she didn’t have the energy now Jaxon started crawling.

“Nah, that’s really a miracle. This is the problem with the mate bond that they share.” Arya sighed deeply. “The mate bond connects to their wolf spirits, so if one denied it, the other would have felt it.”

Arya then made an analogy where their wolf spirits were being starved from affection.

Xaden sneaked out of the palace. His body felt weaker than usual because of the pain from the mate bond and the rune.

It took him more than an hour to tone down his killing intent towards the king, especially after his suggestion to take Arlene as his mate.

With him leaving the room, it did help Xaden to stop his train of thought on how to kill the king. He would have done it if he could, even if it was the last thing that he could do.

Unfortunately, with the rune on his hand, things were not that simple.

Xaden moved in his black beast quietly, the color of his fur blended with the night and he could easily leave the palace ground without anyone noticing him.

And once he was in the main street, he went to the alley and continued walking from there, blending with the people.

It was a quiet night, but there was a crowded market, which was a great camouflage for Xaden to walk among them. It helped because not many people in this capital city had ever seen him in person.
