THE HAPPIEST MOMENT IN HER LIFE

THE HAPPIEST MOMENT IN HER LIFE

Fenja hoped, this warm was only the beginning of something good, not the end of everything. She was scared to say the least.

This was the family that she always wanted and she always dreamed of, but at the same time, she was afraid it would be taken away like most of the thing in her life.

Everything that she loved would be taken away and she had no power to protect it. Like her favorite doll when she was a child, her candies or dress. All of them went to Shena, simply because she could do that to her. And then Alec, but now thisFenja was scared the universe would once again betray her.

If Xaden heard her thought, he didn’t say anything and put his focus on feeding Jaxon, who seemed very happy to be with his father. The little boy was not scared of Xaden, even though he had gone for a long time.

When Fenja had polished her meal, the three of them went to the river, but this time, they took a few warriors with them for precaution.

They kept their distance from the little family, but they would reach them quick enough if something was wrong.

I think he doesn’t like fish like you,” Fenja said when Xaden caught a fish from the river and showed it to Jaxon. The little boy scrunched his nose and put his arms in front of him.

Nononohe mumbled the words. No, fish…”

Both of them chuckled when his hands touched the slimy body of the fish and he turned his face away, curled himself in Fenja’s arms.

After that, Xaden grilled the fish for Fenja like he did before. She ate alone, because Xaden and Jaxon didn’t even want to try.

Both of them played in the riverbank, while Fenja enjoyed her fish. Xaden let Jaxon to touch the cold river, but he squirmed and made a face at his father because the water was too cold for his liking.

However, Xaden proved that he could be very patient with the people that matter to him. Slowly, he showed Jaxon that the coldness of the river was fine, and he could play in the water.

At first, Fenja was doubtful that Jaxon would even try, because she knew her little one could be very stubborn and was specific with what he liked and disliked.

Yet, Xaden did it.

In less than an hour, Jaxon had approached the river and played in the shallow side of it under a tight

surveillance of Xaden.

He seemed to enjoy this, you could hear his laughter echoed in the clearing. As far as Fenja could remember, she had never heard him laugh this hard.

Or probably, it was because she rarely went out of the pack house, since her condition didn’t allow her to. Fern or Ailee, must have heard this crisp sound of the little boy countless times.

Fenja felt bad. She was a bad mother
