Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 134

Hannah never thought the day would come when she’d find herself on her knees in front of Bonnie.

Cold seeped in through her knees and crawled up her body, prickling her skin. She nearly had to bite down on her tongue just to push through the shame twisting inside her. But what did that matter now? Losing everything would be so much worse. She looked up, clinging desperately to Bonnie’s arms, dragging her purse and scarf down to the wet pavement.

Rain had soaked them both, and even the brightest colors had turned dull and splotchy. It was impossible not to feel exposed—people all around stared, whispering just loud enough for Hannah to hear.

Who was the real wife? Who was the other woman? No matter who he loved, no matter who “won,” wasn’t the child the one who suffered most?

But standing here, Hannah couldn’t convince herself that anyone in this mess could really be called a winner.

At least, she told herself, she still had the moral high ground.

Tears streamed from her eyes, making her seem fragile, almost pitiful. Right now, she was every bit the tragic heroine—the woman who would even give up her dignity for love.

“I know maybe nothing happened between you two, but he can’t forget about you. What am I supposed to do? Bonnie, I’m begging you, please, just leave... If you go away, if you get as far from Cabinda as you can, he’ll finally give up hope. He’ll stay with me, with our child, and my family won’t fall apart. I’m not as amazing or strong as you are. If Lawrence leaves me, I honestly don’t even know what I’ll do!”

“Please, Bonnie...”

Bonnie found herself pulled into this struggle, her chest tightening with frustration and panic. This wasn’t the Hannah she remembered. Sure, Hannah always knew how to say just the thing to get under your skin, but never—not once—would she drop her pride and beg. Right now, Bonnie had no idea what to do.
