Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 248

Surprised, she turned around just in time to see the heavily bundled stranger give a curt nod. As he grabbed his backpack and stood up, a jolt went through her.

For a dizzying split second, she thought she was looking at Lawrence.

Back when they used to travel together, Lawrence was always decked out in tactical outdoor gear. Whenever they hiked, he would march ahead, practically dragging her up the mountain by the hand, radiating that distinct, boundless vitality that was so uniquely him.

But the illusion shattered in an instant, and she snapped back to reality.

The man just bore a passing resemblance to the Lawrence that existed in her distant memories.

Lowering her gaze, she followed Victor out the door.

Victor kept shooting not-so-subtle glances at the silent man walking beside them. He was practically vibrating with curiosity but kept his mouth shut until they were loading the luggage into the trunk. Leaning in, he whispered to her, "Do you think he's a celebrity or something? You wouldn't believe who I drove to Hvitland last week."

She chuckled, shaking her head.

"That massive A-list actor! He was heading up to Hvitland to snowboard, dressed exactly like this guy. Swear to god, he had his nose practically taped shut so no one would recognize him."

Victor dropped a name she vaguely recognized. "Our fleet drives those types all the time—actors, influencers, you name it. But I've never seen anyone bundled up this hardcore."

She couldn't help but glance at the man standing by the passenger door. Clad entirely in black, only the absolute tip of his nose was visible. Whether he was famous or not, one thing was blindingly obvious.

He was desperate to stay anonymous.

Talk about sketchy.

Shrugging off her fleeting curiosity, she climbed into the back seat. Victor hopped into the driver's side and launched into his official spiel. "Alright folks, welcome to Thule! Next stop, Hvitland. I'm your guide, Victor."

"I'll start a group chat so we can coordinate everything. I'll need your IDs and hotel reservation details once we get closer to Hvitland, so it's easier to drop them in the chat. Sound good?"
