Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 359

To the rest of the world, Lawrence was polite, polished, and carried a natural, effortless dominance. Yvonne always felt his arrogance was baked into his DNA.

He wasn't the type of man to ever feel inferior or insecure.

But the second Bonnie was in the room, he morphed into a sunflower desperate for the sun, eager and waiting for her validation.

The sheer joy he radiated, coupled with his terrified desperation to keep her happy, was glaringly obvious to anyone watching.

It was almost embarrassing how obvious it was.

Yvonne remembered one late night when Dale was away. Bonnie was struggling with the Locust Grove Project. Historic renovations were a bureaucratic nightmare, and Bonnie didn't want to dump her stress on the senior architects.

She had spent the entire night pouring over zoning codes and digging up archival blueprints.

Yvonne had stayed late too, waiting for the Printing Department to deliver her final construction sets. The plotters had broken down, so it was past ten by the time they arrived.

While Yvonne was outside waiting, she saw Lawrence pull up and they exchanged a quick wave.

When Bonnie finally limped out on one foot, Lawrence practically sprinted up the stairs. He looked panicked and gently scolded her for not calling him to come inside and help her, terrified she might fall.

Bonnie, clearly annoyed by his nagging, pouted and refused his help, trying to hop down the steps by herself.

Lawrence looked like he was going to have a heart attack.

He wanted to scoop her up but didn't dare, hovering around her like a scolded puppy, completely out of his depth.

It wasn't until Bonnie noticed Yvonne standing there that she looked embarrassed. Yvonne gave her a teasing wink, and Bonnie tried to play it cool.

Yvonne grabbed her blueprints and headed inside, giving them privacy. Glancing back before the door closed, she saw Lawrence wrapping his arm around Bonnie's shoulders, taking her weight.

He murmured something to her, and she eventually let him carry her to the car.

The vibe Bonnie gave off that night was, honestly, a bit bratty. She was acting spoiled.
