Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 361

Two busy months flew by. By late September, the blueprints for the Locust Grove Project were successfully handed over. The heavy burden on Bonnie's shoulders lifted, leaving her with only a few low-stakes, flexible projects.

Dale had also started gradually returning to the studio. Knowing how much effort Bonnie had poured into the Locust Grove Project, and with the upcoming holiday approaching, he held off on assigning her any new work.

Bonnie enjoyed the relaxed pace, clocking in and out right on time. When she returned home to see June, she noticed that despite his stubby legs and chubby body, the little guy had grown significantly over the past two months.

His underbite was becoming more pronounced by the day.

Bonnie cupped June's face, staring into his big, round eyes.

With his new adult teeth coming in, his lower jaw completely overlapped his upper teeth. It was both goofy and adorable, and it suddenly reminded Bonnie of the braces Lawrence had promised to get for the pup.

Come to think of it, they hadn't contacted each other in two months.

Not a single phone call. Not a single WhatsApp message.

Aside from their busy schedules, Bonnie felt there was an unspoken understanding between them.

They both probably knew it was for the best. They needed this time apart to cool down and figure out where they stood.

They clearly couldn't just be friends. If they couldn't find the right balance, as Yvonne Walker had suggested, they would just end up perpetually confused.

Bonnie knew Lawrence. With his personality, he definitely wouldn't forget his promise about June's braces. Plus, the holiday was coming up, and she would be heading back to Cabinda. She figured he would use that as an excuse to reach out soon.

Feeling certain of this, she got up to pack her clothes and essentials for her trip back to Cabinda.

Helen's wedding was on the second. Bonnie and another childhood friend were going to be bridesmaids. Helen had bought their dresses and shoes online ahead of time. Bonnie pulled hers out of the closet and held it up against herself in the mirror.

It was a champagne-colored silk slip dress, elegant and tasteful. She carefully folded it, slipped it into a garment bag, and tucked it into her suitcase.

June tried to jump into the luggage to cause trouble, earning a gentle tap on his little head from Bonnie.

Just as she finished packing, her phone rang.
