Three Years Later, He Came Back Begging novel Chapter 427

He walked toward her, his gaze burning intensely as he looked down at her. A sudden flush crept up Bonnie's cheeks; Lawrence looked exceptionally handsome and utterly captivating today.

He wanted desperately to kiss her, but he couldn't bear to ruin her flawless makeup. Showing immense restraint, he settled for a tender kiss against her pearl crown.

"Aiken stopped by earlier," Lawrence said, offering her the gift bag. "He's heading out on a work trip and can't make the reception tonight. He dropped this off as a wedding gift."

Inside was a pair of exquisitely crafted couple figurines. Bonnie admired them for a moment before carefully placing them back. "They're lovely. We can put them in the living room."

Lawrence nodded. He then opened the velvet box, revealing a stunning set of pearl jewelry.

"Mom asked me to bring this to you. It matches you perfectly."

Bonnie exuded an elegance now that made pearls look breathtaking on her. Unable to help himself, Lawrence leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her collarbone.

In her heels, she was tall enough to rest her chin on his shoulder. She wrapped her arms around his neck, not wanting to speak, just needing to hold him.

Lawrence loosely wrapped his arms around her waist, then pulled her tighter, trembling slightly from the sheer emotional weight of the moment. They held each other in silence, yet it felt as if a thousand words had passed between them.

They only pulled apart when the staff arrived to collect the groom, signaling that the ceremony was about to begin.

Lawrence placed a feather-light kiss on her forehead and reluctantly walked out.

As soon as he was gone, Yvonne and Helen rushed back in to help manage her massive train, guiding her to the chapel doors to wait.

Staring at the heavy, ornate doors of the chapel, she could hear the symphony orchestra striking up a joyous march. Everything screamed that this was real. Today was their wedding day.

It was reality, but it felt like an absolute dream.

When the doors swung open and the blinding spotlights hit her, Bonnie gripped her skirt. As she stepped onto the aisle heavily carpeted with rose petals, walking toward Lawrence as he walked toward her, a surreal wave of nostalgia hit her.

It felt as though the path beneath her feet wasn't the aisle to her happy ending, but a physical manifestation of all the years they had missed.

With every step, memories flashed through her mind like film.

The breathtaking first glance on campus, the hand he extended to her on the street. The sweet honeymoon phase of their youth, the screaming fights, the misunderstandings. The crushing betrayal orchestrated by fate, the agonizing separation, her desperate escape, and finally, the resentment when they reunited. The bitter unwillingness, the dark obsessions, the toxic struggles.

She remembered the rain leaking through the roof that night, soaking her hair. The blood left on the nightstand flashed violently in her mind.

She saw him jumping off the cliff in Silvania. She saw him relentlessly chasing her down the ski slopes, falling over and over again but always getting back up.
