Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 11

“I want to terminate the pregnancy.”

The words left Liliana’s mouth almost before she’d thought them. The doctor’s smile vanished, replaced by a serious expression. “Miss Hart, you have a rather delicate constitution. If you go through with this, you may never be able to have children in the future.”

Liliana froze, her hand instinctively flying to her flat belly. Her lips trembled. She never imagined it would be that serious. To never be a mother… The doctor saw her hesitation and offered some comforting words. “Miss Hart, there’s no rush to decide. You’re only a month along. You have time to think about it before the fetus develops further.”

“This is a huge decision. You should go home and discuss it with the baby’s father.”

Liliana lowered her gaze, a sardonic smile playing on her lips. Linton wouldn’t care about this child. And he didn’t get to make decisions about her body. When Liliana left the hospital, her housekeeper, Camilla, called again. “Miss Hart, you should really come back and see this,” she said, her voice strained. “The house has been completely trashed. The boy hasn't stopped for a second, he’s like a little demon. No one can calm him down.”

Liliana’s voice was calm. “Camilla, I’m going to sell the house.”

“Tally up everything that was broken. Send the bill to Isabella. I want her to pay for every last penny of the damages.”

Camilla was stunned. “But Miss Hart, this was supposed to be your home with Mr. Cooper…”

“The annual performance reviews are just around the corner. Your record is outstanding. If you pass the assessment, you’ll be promoted to Mr. Cooper’s executive secretary.”

Noah was one of the few people in the company who knew about her relationship with Linton. He, more than anyone, knew how incredibly hard Liliana had worked over the past year to earn that position. She was the office workaholic, famous for pulling all-nighters and working six days a week. Now, just as her dream was within reach, she was quitting.

Noah sensed something was deeply wrong. He hesitated. “Miss Hart, resigning is a big deal. Please, think it over.”

“There’s nothing to think about,” Liliana said, her tone firm. “I will not continue working at the Cooper Group. Mr. Briggs, I’d appreciate it if you would process my resignation.”
