Too Late, Mr. Cooper: Your Bride Ran with Your Baby novel Chapter 87

Liliana looked up, surprised.

Her gaze shifted past Linton to Isabella, who stood behind him with a smug, knowing smile on her face. Isabella gave her a slight, provocative arch of her eyebrow, her smile widening.

Liliana’s lips thinned.

Aiden pushed his gold-rimmed glasses up the bridge of his nose with a long, elegant finger. He smiled, a hint of regret in his voice. “Thank you for the generous offer, Mr. Cooper, but I’m afraid… I can’t accept.”

Linton’s eyes never left Liliana. “May I ask where Mr. Grant is currently employed? We’re prepared to double your current salary.”

“If double isn’t enough, we can make it triple. Name your price, Mr. Grant. The Cooper Group will meet it.”

Linton was determined to poach Aiden, no matter the cost.

Liliana couldn’t help but look at him. Was he really willing to go to such lengths to pave the way for Isabella’s design studio? To fight with her over talent and pay such a steep price, all to grant Isabella’s wish?

A faint, mocking smile touched Liliana’s lips. She wasn’t angry, not really. After all these years, she was used to Linton’s blatant favoritism toward Isabella.

She just found it amusing.

At that moment, Isabella gracefully walked over, smiling warmly at Aiden. “Mr. Grant, it’s an honor to meet you.”

“My brother and I are sincerely hoping you’ll join the Cooper Group. We hope you’ll consider our offer, especially given my brother’s personal invitation.”

“The Cooper Group’s potential is undeniable. This is our first venture into the luxury brand market, and our future is incredibly bright.”

Isabella’s words were always laced with subtle venom. Her meaning was clear: compared to Liliana’s little startup, the Cooper Group was the smarter bet. She was subtly putting Liliana down, implying her company had no future.

Isabella smiled and offered Aiden her business card, her voice soft and sweet. “Well, that’s a shame, Mr. Grant. Here’s my contact information. If you ever change your mind, please don’t hesitate to reach out.”

“There will always be a place for you at the Cooper Group’s luxury jewelry studio. My brother and I will always be waiting for you.”

Her words were perfectly polite.

Aiden accepted the card with a smile and slipped it into his suit pocket. “Thank you for the vote of confidence. I’m honored.”

Seeing him take the card, Isabella looked satisfied. She turned to Linton and smiled brightly, taking his arm. “Brother, let’s go. The show is about to start.”

But Linton didn’t move.

He stared down, his long, dark lashes casting a shadow over his eyes, concealing the turbulent emotions swirling within. His gaze was locked on Liliana, and his cool voice slowly cut through the air. “Together?”
