Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1012

It didn't take long for Dominic to text back: "I've assigned a detail to monitor her."

Early the next morning, Harvey Rivers followed the location pin Mira sent him and arrived at the inn.

Afterward, Mira accompanied him to the Mavarian victim rescue camp to search for Natalie Rivers.

These people were the survivors the government had demanded back from the local authorities yesterday. They had been pulled from various scam compounds, medical facilities, and narcotic factories.

There were over a hundred of them, men and women alike. Every single one was severely malnourished, reduced to skin and bones, their eyes vacant and hollow.

"This many?"

Harvey asked, horrified.

"This is just a tiny fraction of the total victims.\nThose terrorists only surrendered a handful to appease the local authorities, and they only handed over the ones in decent physical condition.\nWho knows how many are still trapped inside, half-dead or missing organs, continuing to suffer."

Harvey couldn't find his sister among the crowd, his disappointment palpable.

And Mira didn't spot Sienna Stanford either.

"Don't worry, Natalie is going to be okay. Dominic's team didn't clear all the compounds yesterday; they're bringing another group back today.\nOr maybe Natalie hasn't even been moved into a compound yet."

If she hadn't entered a compound, it meant she likely hadn't been harmed yet.

Mira offered the words to comfort Harvey.

"I hope you're right."

Usually so spirited and commanding, he looked entirely drained of life.

By the afternoon, the last group of survivors arrived, but Harvey still couldn't find his sister.

"Don't lose hope. This is normal.\nMara had Mishka kidnap your sister specifically to threaten me. They aren't going to do anything to Natalie right now.\nWe're launching our operation soon. The moment we spot her, we'll find a way to get her out."

Mira said.

"I'm just terrified she's getting hurt. Who knows what that psycho Mara will do to her?"

Harvey was sick with worry for his sister.

"They don't have the time for that right now. They're too busy trying to figure out how to deal with me."

"Let's hope so."
