Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 159

"There's no rush. Take your time.

Actually, your furniture looks great. Why don't you just leave it and sell it to me? I honestly don't have the time to shop for new stuff."

"That works for us. Now that this business deal is locked in, we're going to be swamped anyway.

You can move right in, and we can leave with just our suitcases."

The wife was delightfully straightforward.

"How much should I write the check for?"

"Oh, put your checkbook away. You just handed me the deal of a lifetime and didn't even ask for a kickback. I was trying to figure out how to repay you anyway."

Mr. Blake laughed.

A few of the employees exchanged amused glances. *She's the boss. Why would she need a kickback?*

"No, seriously, I can't take it for free. Like I said before, just make sure the manufacturing quality is flawless. That's all I care about."

"The quality will be immaculate, but we still owe you."

Mr. Blake turned to his wife. "We'll head out tomorrow. Let's travel light."

They had another fully furnished house in the city anyway. Hauling everything over would just be a hassle, and they'd have to find a place to put it all.

"We still have to pack our clothes," his wife pointed out.

"Leave the clothes too." Connor waved a hand dismissively.

She shot him a withering glare. "What are you going to wear? The emperor's new clothes? Besides, the poor girl can't fit into our wardrobes."

They were a hilarious couple. Mira and her team watched their banter with open amusement.

"Then you pack my bags. I don't have time. I'm going to be buried in work now."

His wife sighed and looked at the group. "My husband is a total workaholic. Once he gets going, the rest of the world ceases to exist.

I've been running the household single-handedly for years."
