"You mean...?"
As his right-hand man, Zachary caught on immediately.
"Exactly. We'll hire an actor to play Lune.
Even if they bring out the real Lune, the audience won't be able to tell who's real and who's fake.
We just need to sell the tickets first. Whatever happens, we cannot let them gain the upper hand.
Worst-case scenario, we'll just claim the actor conned us."
"But... but..."
Zachary groaned inwardly. The massive Lance Group, conned? Wouldn't people ask why they didn't run background checks? What were all their internal oversight protocols for—decoration?
Shifting the blame was easy, but losing face and credibility was a monumental disaster.
Lawrence couldn't hold a candle to the eldest heir. Born to a mistress, he was unrefined and painfully small-minded.
"Stop overthinking it. Everyone gets deceived at some point. When it blows up, the scammer will take all the heat."
True, maybe it wouldn't be as catastrophic as he feared.
Just as Zachary turned to leave, Lawrence asked, "Any other unusual activity over at Solflare?"
"Yes. A few days ago, a group arrived from Melvion City.
Felix Grant picked them up personally, and they're currently staying at The Grand Sovereign."
"Did you find out who they are?"
"The leader is apparently named Mira Mercer. Felix is incredibly deferential to her."
"Mira Mercer? What's her background?"
"She's a singer. One of the premium tracks Solflare released last year was sung by her."
"A minor singer commands that much respect from Felix? Did you dig any deeper?"
Could she be someone special? Lawrence genuinely suspected she might be the brains behind his rival's clever moves.
"I did, Mr. Lance.
She's the spokesperson for EcoRide and the daughter of the Mercer family in Melvion City, though she's severed ties with them.
Currently, she's just a high school student, apparently a top academic achiever."
"That means she's highly intelligent and likely holds a significant position at Solflare.
