Her own subordinates wouldn't show up unannounced without calling first.
Mira thought for a moment. "It could also be your grandfather. He can't get to you, so he's trying to find a weak point through me."
Talking it over, the two of them walked toward the elevators.
The moment they reached the ground-floor reception area, Owen spotted Zachary Lloyd. He leaned in and murmured to Mira, "That's Lawrence's right-hand man."
"Mr. Lance!" Zachary exclaimed, clearly startled.
"What did Lawrence send you here for?" Owen asked with a dry smile.
"Mr. Lance sent me to speak with Miss Mercer..."
"About what?"
"He wanted me to offer Miss Mercer a position. If she's willing to join the Lance family's entertainment company, she can have her pick of any resources and the highest possible salary split."
Owen glanced over his shoulder at Mira. "Not a bad offer. Are you going to take it?"
"Oh, stop being so sarcastic. You know perfectly well what my answer is," Mira shot back. She turned to Zachary. "First, thank Mr. Lance for thinking so highly of me. However, please tell him that there is no way I am ever leaving Solflare Entertainment."
It was a joke. What kind of boss walked away from their own company to work as someone else's employee?
After sending Zachary packing, Mira and Owen headed out to the hotel courtyard, ready to get into their car. Just then, Harvey Rivers chased after them.
"Mira, let me tag along and help out."
"You don't have anything else on your plate today?" Since arriving in Aethelgard, Harvey had been leaving early and coming back late. Aside from helping out during the concert, Mira had no idea what he had been up to.
