Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 357

It was one thing for Ethan to show up, but Damon was notoriously self-absorbed. His presence confirmed he only cared now that he knew she was the musical prodigy, Lune.

Mira shot them a glacial look. "My ride is here. Go home."

"Mira, we saw the news about the plane. Everyone was so worried about you," Damon said, stepping forward.

"We stopped being a family a long time ago. Save your concern for your own lives," Mira replied, turning toward her SUV.

"Mira, please!" Damon chased after her, grabbing her arm. "We were wrong! I was blind! I know we hurt you, but if you just come home, Ethan and I will spend the rest of our lives making it up to you!"

Damon's desperation eclipsed even Ethan's. The sheer regret of pushing away his genius sister was eating him alive. They could have been the ultimate powerhouse duo in the entertainment industry. If he could just get her to collaborate with him, they would be unstoppable.

Mira ripped her arm out of his grasp as if his touch burned. "Save it. I don't need your fake apologies. Save your charity for Mara. Isn't she your perfect, gentle, submissive angel? And me? I'm just the vicious, spoiled brat who ruins your peaceful home. I've been gone for half a year—you must have been living in absolute bliss." Her lips curled into a razor-sharp smirk. The Mercer family hadn't even begun to pay for what they did to her.

Owen stood by the open car door, his arms crossed over his chest, watching the pathetic display with a mocking tilt of his head. Jax Weaver and Silas Vane formed an impenetrable wall behind Mira.

Harvey Rivers, pausing before getting into his own car, shook his head. "Ethan, Damon. You know what they say. You can't unspill water."

The Rivers family and the Mercer family were business partners, and their relationship had always been quite good.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean, Harvey?" Ethan snapped. "Instead of helping, you're just standing there throwing insults?"

"I'm just stating facts," Harvey replied coolly. "You threw her away when you had her, and now that she's gone, you're begging. For a high-powered CEO, you're pretty pathetic."

"We are her biological brothers! Everything we did, no matter how harsh it seemed, was because we cared about her," Ethan argued, his voice tight.
