"Of all the things you could study, you want to learn that? I don't know how."
Dominic frowned, getting the distinct impression that Mira was plotting something highly illegal.
"Yes, you do. If I can learn it, it's useful. And I promise I won't do anything malicious."
"What makes you so sure I know how?"
"Word on the street."
"Whose street?"
Dominic's gaze turned razor-sharp.
"I forgot.
Look, I'm not going to do anything bad, so what are you so paranoid about? I only use it to deal with terrible people."
"Terrible people are the justice system's problem. You don't need to get involved."
"Fine, don't teach me then. Why do you talk so much?"
Mira scoffed, unimpressed. If the justice system was truly flawless, there wouldn't be so many monsters roaming free.
Besides, her current hacking skills were more than sufficient for her immediate needs.
Dominic was completely speechless.
After that, Mira just straight-up ignored him.
Dominic glanced at her from the corner of his eye.
So, the only reason she got into his car and tried to play nice was to squeeze hacking lessons out of him.
"You're representing your province in the decathlon?"
"Yeah."
"You must have excellent grades."
"Obviously."
Mira replied with absolute confidence.
There was zero need to play humble with a guy like him.
Dominic was rendered speechless again. She didn't have a modest bone in her body.
"If you do well this time, does it guarantee you early admission?"
"Even if they offer it, I'm not taking it. I'm going to take the college entrance exams and crush the top spot."
He was using a military-grade, heavily encrypted firewall. He had assumed it was flawless.
His defense was indeed spectacular, and practically no one else could have cracked it. But Mira had been his absolute best student in her past life.
The very method she used to bypass his elite firewall was the exact backdoor Dominic himself had taught her.
"Relax, I don't casually hack into people's systems. Unless they're my enemy."
Was she subtly threatening him not to make an enemy out of her?
For the rest of the drive, neither of them spoke, but Dominic kept stealing intensely curious glances at her.
When the car pulled up to the hotel entrance, Mira turned to him before stepping out. "Thanks for the ride.
I really hope you consider what I said earlier.
I won't bother you much, just a question here and there. Having me as a friend is a highly profitable investment."
Dominic was stunned. No one had ever dared speak to him with such brazen confidence.
Even Silas was watching from the front seat, deeply fascinated by Dominic's reaction.
The moment Mira disappeared into the lobby, Dominic grabbed his phone and called Owen.
"What kind of chaotic demon is your junior? She looks so quiet and innocent, but she literally just hacked my phone's core system in seconds!"
