In the days that followed, Mara studied company management with Roxanne day and night. Full of motivation, she woke up before dawn to memorize the executive guide Roxanne had given her. After work in the evenings, Mara continued reading the management notes provided by her mentor. She felt a surge of energy throughout her body; she had never worked this hard at studying in her entire life. Her ultimate goal—taking full control of the Mercer Group—was finally within reach.
