Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 657

"Will you be jealous of me?"

Mira asked Harvey.

"Of course not. I'm your fan, and your friend. The better you do, the happier I am.

I might never have you in this lifetime, but I'll always worship you."

This guy! Mira actually believed him.

"Harvey, we're good friends, and I want the best for you, too."

The following afternoon, just as Mira was about to finish class, a sleek Maybach pulled up near the academic building.

As soon as she walked out of the classroom, Reece informed her, "The person in that luxury car seems to be looking for you."

Reece shot her a complicated look.

Judging solely by the endless parade of luxury cars she associated with, this classmate's background was likely far more formidable than he had ever imagined.

"Looking for me?"

"Yeah, he was just asking the other students about you."

If it were an acquaintance, they would have let her know in advance rather than showing up unannounced.

Aside from people she knew, who else would be seeking her out?

Mira, Elara, and the others walked over just as an unfamiliar man stepped out of the vehicle.

He was tall, dressed in a simple cream cashmere sweater that outlined his lean but broad shoulders.

His luminous, aristocratic complexion—as if he rarely saw the sun—made his pitch-black eyes appear even more profound.

There was no warmth in his gaze, only a faint sense of detachment, yet his impeccable features and aura made it impossible to look away.

Leah immediately swooned like a hopeless romantic, and even the usually composed Elara couldn't help but steal a few extra glances.

But Mira's expression remained completely indifferent.

"Are you Miss Mercer?"

Out of the three girls, Jude recognized Mira instantly.

The effortless composure, calmness, and depth she inadvertently displayed simply didn't belong to an ordinary college girl her age.

"I have. However, what Mr. Ashford told you that day perfectly represented my stance.

The financial firm isn't accepting investments. We are only open to a full buyout, and the price is hundreds of billions of dollars.

I'm sorry, but you've wasted a trip today."

"Is there really no room for negotiation? We have immense resources that could propel your private equity funds globally."

The corners of Mira's lips curled up. "I'm sorry, but our funds have already entered the global market and are steadily expanding.

With a rock-solid product, any marketing gimmick is just the icing on the cake. I believe in my company, and I believe in our funds."

"We have another class coming up. Excuse us."

"Wait. This is clearly a win-win situation. Why would you refuse?"

"Because we're already winning. We don't need a win-win."

Honestly, with the wealthy overseas resources Jude brought to the table, a collaboration wouldn't have been entirely impossible.

However, the fact that he immediately got mixed up with Lawrence Lance made him completely repulsive to her.
