Mira patted her friends’ shoulders to show she was okay.
“Thank you for believing me. Just wait, the truth will come out soon.”
Celine shot Ethan a glare before turning back to Mira. “Of course. You could never be a bad person, even if everyone else in the world was.”
Liora nodded in agreement.
In her past life, these two friends had always stood by her side, helping her countless times.
Unfortunately, Mira had been stubborn, obsessed with winning back her family’s affection, and ended up losing her entire life in the process.
Just as Mira was about to walk away, she stopped and leaned in close to her friends. “I’m sending a video to your phones,” she whispered. “Help me forward it to the MVN Radiowave Network and the school forums.”
This time, she was going to turn the tables and make Mara a social pariah.
Then, Mira continued toward the main stage.
Ethan hadn’t heard what they said, but he shot her friends a warning glance before following her.
Just then, Mira heard another familiar voice.
“How could you push Mara down the stairs? She’s your sister. You’ve been getting more and more out of line since she came back. You’d better apologize properly later.”
It was Wesley Scott, her childhood fiancé; their families had arranged their marriage long ago.
“Get lost.”
Mira tried to ignore him, but he kept talking as he followed her.
Ethan frowned at her. “What’s gotten into you? Apologize to Wesley right now.”
Mira pretended she didn’t hear him.
In her past life, Wesley had always defended Mara and criticized Mira for every little thing, just like her brothers—they were all cut from the same cloth.
Looking back, she couldn’t believe she’d been so blind as to fall for such a scumbag.
Later, when Mira’s reputation was in shambles, the Scott family insisted on breaking off the engagement and arranging a new one with Mara.
And her wonderful parents actually agreed, without any regard for Mira’s feelings or dignity. Her brother Julian had even said, “You and Mara are worlds apart. Anyone would choose Mara over you.”
