Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 725

"Miss Quinn, please stop knocking. Mr. Lance is tired and wants to rest for a bit. You should head back for now.

Since we still have some time, why don't you go rest as well?"

Zachary stepped in to stop Seraphina.

"How can he sleep at a time like this? You better wake him up to get ready. It's almost time."

"No, no. You should head back. Mr. Lance has a terrible temper when he's woken up. If he doesn't get enough sleep, we staff are the ones who suffer.

Please, have some mercy on us."

"Alright then. Just don't let him sleep for too long."

Seraphina figured that Lawrence was probably just exhausted from juggling work and preparing for the engagement over the past few days.

"Of course, of course."

As soon as Seraphina walked away, Zachary urgently knocked on the door to warn his boss. "Boss, Boss, she's gone. Hurry up."

Zachary wanted to use this brief window to sneak Quinn out.

But just as he unlocked the door, Seraphina came marching back.

"Is Lawrence awake?"

She pushed the door open excitedly, only to freeze when she saw Lawrence and Quinn hurriedly straightening their clothes. The deep wrinkles in their garments were a glaring sign of the indecent acts that had just taken place.

"What are you two doing?

Weren't you resting? What, she was sleeping with you?"

Seraphina exploded in anger, tears welling up in her eyes as she glared pitifully at Lawrence.

"Seraphina, don't misunderstand. Lawrence was resting, and when I helped him tidy up, his clothes got wrinkled. We were just straightening them out."

"Get out! Don't let me ever see your face again!"

Seraphina wasn't easily fooled.

"You really misunderstood. It's all my fault. It's my fault for making you think that."

Quinn forced tears out immediately. She was a professional actress, and her acting skills were leagues beyond Seraphina's.

"If you're upset, I'll leave right now. Just... just please don't blame Lawrence.

He's... he's innocent in all of this."

She sobbed dramatically.

"Just go. Don't let Seraphina misunderstand any further."

Lawrence always knew his priorities. A lover was just a lover, and he needed to give his future wife face. He understood that better than anyone.

Quinn wiped her tears and turned to leave.

"Ah—!"
