Cedric Miller spoke rather loudly, drawing the attention of the surrounding classmates.
"I had my assistant post it,"
Harvey Rivers lowered his voice and said to Mira Mercer.
"Actually, after reading the online comments, Wyatt Wright and the others wanted to post, but I stopped them."
Mira understood.
It involved too many people; if someone retaliated, defenseless classmates couldn't handle it.
...
Meanwhile, in the office, Lawrence Lance and his people saw all the online backlash.
He gritted his teeth and asked Zachary Lloyd, "What the hell is the PR department doing? How could they let this trash spread online?"
"Mr. Lance, there were too many people at the banquet yesterday, it's impossible to stop.
We suppressed three waves this morning, but someone leaked it again."
"Tell them to hurry up. Focus solely on this today."
"Yes, I'll notify them right away."
Zachary immediately picked up his phone and dialed the PR department again...
Turning back to Lawrence, he said, "Lawrence, since you're working for Jude Vance, why don't we shift the blame to him..."
But the truth was, the two were using each other to achieve a common goal.
"I know what you're trying to say, but now is not the time to burn bridges."
After thinking for a moment, Lawrence asked again, "Didn't my mother mention some assassination plan a while ago? Why hasn't it been executed yet?"
"Lawrence, they aren't ordinary people, and they have expert bodyguards protecting them around the clock. Rumor has it, no one wants to take this job."
If assassination were that easy, would Owen Lance still be alive?
"Is there really no other way?"
Lawrence roared.
"Not at the moment, but everyone is trying to figure something out."
Zachary said quietly.
