Zachary kept his eyes glued to the floor, shrinking behind Lawrence to minimize his presence.

Gwen's head snapped up at the sound of his voice. "Ghost!"

Lawrence's expression grew even stormier. He was so enraged he temporarily lost the ability to speak.

But thanks to Gwen's screech, everyone was now staring at Lawrence.

Since walking through the door, Seraphina had been crying too hard to process what anyone was saying. Hearing Lawrence's voice made her shoot up.

The built-up fury caused her to snap. She charged at Lawrence, swinging her fists and kicking wildly.

Deep down, Seraphina was actually afraid of Lawrence. Even though he usually acted sweet to her, she knew she could never overpower him when it really counted.

Back at his office, with that tramp Quinn and his employees around, she knew Lawrence wouldn't have hesitated to hit her if she made a scene.

But here, in her own home, he wouldn't dare try anything.

At first, Lawrence didn't move. He let her hit him, figuring her pathetic punches wouldn't hurt anyway. After all, he really had been caught red-handed.

Sebastian and Gwen gave half-hearted scoldings, but neither stepped in to pull their daughter away.
