Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 902

"Well... our philosophy is that the client comes first. The client is king."

Especially a client of that magnitude. James was just stating the facts.

"What if I offer you an equity stake in my next major financial move?

That syndicate is an internationally recognized plague. They're going to be eradicated eventually, and you know it."

Mira raised the stakes, trying to sway him.

"Let me think about it, my dear Mira. I need to consult with the other board members."

"He's tempted," Owen whispered.

Even though James hadn't agreed immediately, he was definitely hooked.

"I completely understand. We'll talk soon," Mira replied before hanging up.

"If they agree, how much are you planning to compensate their bank?" Owen asked.

"Don't worry, we won't have to pay out of our own pockets. Dismantling that syndicate is going to yield an unfathomable amount of seized assets.

We'll just cut them in on the spoils."

That organization had spent years operating in the black market; the wealth they hoarded had to be astronomical.

"But that all hinges on successfully destroying them. What if we commit resources and fail?

How much influence does James actually wield in this situation? Is bringing them in even worth the cost?

We need to calculate the risks beforehand and draft a clear set of terms with them," Owen pointed out thoughtfully.

Mira nodded. "Do you think they can pull off a total economic blockade?"

"They should be able to. Those criminals deal in off-the-books enterprises, which means they prefer moving money through offshore foreign banks.

My point is, if we're using them, we have to demand a complete financial chokehold on the syndicate. Only then do we guarantee compensation."

The required payout wouldn't be cheap. If the government forces failed to confiscate the syndicate's assets, the financial burden would fall entirely on Mira and Owen.

The two of them drafted a meticulous proposal, sent it to James, and waited for his response.

Just as they were getting ready to turn in for the night, Owen remembered something and glanced over at her. "What was that new financial move you mentioned earlier?"
