Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 933

Half-believing and half-doubting, Sebastian was dragged away by Gwen.

Mira had said all she was going to say. Honestly, marrying off a daughter without even doing a basic background check? Blindly trusting his wife?

After being married to Gwen for so many years, didn't Sebastian know exactly what kind of person she was?

Thank goodness she had sent Eleanor away, otherwise the old lady would have been livid.

The next day, Mira headed to the jewelry plaza on time to meet Eleanor. She deliberately brought Jillian Lowe along.

Jillian was a smooth talker who could keep Eleanor entertained and convince her to stay at the jewelry plaza for a few more days.

On the way there, Mira explained the entire situation to her. "Just figure out a way to sweet-talk Eleanor into not coming back for a few days."

"Mission accepted. Keeping older folks happy is my specialty."

Jillian confidently replied.

When they arrived at the jewelry plaza, Eleanor immediately greeted Mira. "Mira, I spotted a few gorgeous pieces. Now that you're here, take a look. If they suit you, we'll buy them."

"Hello, Eleanor!"

Jillian greeted the older woman with a bright smile.

"This is my classmate, Jillian..."

"Oh, is this the out-of-town student with the excellent grades?"

For some reason, Eleanor's imagination ran wild, linking Jillian to the parent-teacher conference for top students Mira had mentioned a few days ago.

"Yes, exactly."

Mira nodded, shooting a desperate look at Jillian, who stared back in utter confusion.

"Eleanor is talking about the parent-teacher conference our school held recently."

"Oh! Yes, of course. All the parents were there."

Jillian casually played along.

"All the parents? Didn't Mira say it was only for a select few outstanding students?"

Eleanor asked, raising an eyebrow.
