Cindy’s eyes softened with worry. “You…”

Amanda waved her off, clearly annoyed. “Can we not talk about that bad-luck guy or any of his drama? What did you bring me to eat? Spill!”

Over in the doorway, the so-called bad-luck guy Travis just stood there, silent.

A cold, almost mocking smile played on his handsome face.

He never would’ve guessed Amanda called him a jerk behind his back.

Seriously?

To his face, she acted like she was madly in love with him. Behind his back, she turned around and trashed him. He used to think Amanda really loved him.

Looks like he was just fooling himself. She clearly didn’t care that much.

He’d barely dropped Leila off at her room before racing back here, ready to apologize for accusing Amanda of something she didn’t do. It had taken a lot for him to work up the nerve.

He spun around and walked away, each step heavy and deliberate.

Inside the room, Amanda and Cindy both felt the tension.

They looked up just in time to catch Travis' retreating figure.

Cindy met Amanda’s gaze.

“You think he heard all that?” Cindy asked, her voice a little dry.

Amanda just shrugged. “So what if he did? Am I not allowed to tell the truth now?”

Cindy pointed after Travis, her face full of disdain.

“I think you really got to him.”

Amanda just spread her hands.

Who cares? If it pissed him off, even better.

“You actually buy that?” Amanda rolled her eyes. “Think about it. Travis? Jumping off a cliff for me? If he’d do that, would he really have traded me for Leila? His actions just don’t add up.”

Cindy’s jaw dropped, her round eyes huge. “So he didn’t jump? It was just a rumor?”

Amanda sighed. “Not exactly a rumor. He did jump.”

Cindy’s mind was blown.

Travis really jumped for Amanda? Had he lost it?

Cindy realized she didn’t get Travis at all. Did he care about Amanda or not?

If he did, why would he risk her life just to save Leila?

If he didn’t, why would he go as far as jumping off a cliff for her?

Honestly, Travis didn’t seem like the type to die for love.
