Chapter 32
Hannah’s face drained of color. “I’m your mother!” she yelled, her voice shaking. “You’re really sending me back to Eastbrook? Just for Amanda? Are you out of your mind?”
Travis‘ expression flickered with impatience. “If you don’t leave right now, I’ll send you back to Eastbrook. I mean it.”
Hannah was furious, but she knew there was nothing she could do. She understood her son better than anyone. He never hesitated to cut ties, even with family. If he said he’d do it, he absolutely would.
She shot Amanda a glare full of resentment and stormed off without another word.
Maybe the old Amanda would have tried to say something, tried to smooth things over. Not anymore.
Their family drama had nothing to do with her.
As soon as Hannah left, Amanda turned to go as well. But before she could take a step, Travis caught her by the wrist.
She looked up, arching an eyebrow. “What do you want?”
Travis‘ gaze was intense and unreadable, something strange flickering in his cool eyes. “You’re coming to the office with me.”
Amanda stared at him, surprised. She’d been to his office before, back when she used to bring him lunch, but that had ended in a run–in with Leila, Ever since then, Travis had told her she wasn’t allowed at his company.
She turned away. “No thanks.”
But Travis‘ grip was firm as steel. He started leading her downstairs, his voice leaving no room for argument. “You’re going, whether you want to or not.”
Amanda tried to wriggle free, but it was useless. She finally gave in, grumbling, “Fine, fine, I’ll go! But can I at least change clothes? I can’t show up in pajamas.”
Travis glanced down and realized she was still in her sleepwear. He finally let go of her wrist.
“Go change. I’ll wait for you downstairs.”
Amanda rolled her eyes hard but headed upstairs. There was no way she was leaving the house in
pajamas.
She quickly changed, then pulled out her phone and posted a story just for Leila to see.
[Guess what? Travis is taking me to his office today! So excited!] She attached a stunning selfie for good measure.
There’s no way Leila, queen of drama, would just sit back after seeing that.
Amanda honestly didn’t want to go to Travis‘ office at all. But if Travis insisted, she might as well stir up a little trouble for him. She had a feeling Travis couldn’t handle her asking for a break up. He’d always been proud, and she used to do everything for him. Now that she’d stepped back, he was

clearly struggling to adjust.
Well, he’d have to get used to it.
The one thing Travis hated most was drama. Her showing up at the office with Leila around? That was his worst nightmare. After a couple more episodes like this, he’d be begging her to leave for good
Leila was his one real weakness.
Amanda followed Travis to AE Tower, the company’s high–rise. The building had fifty–eight floors, and Travis‘ office occupied the entire top level. It was more like a private suite, complete with a lounge, a gym, and his workspace.
Travis held her hand as they rode the elevator up to the fifty–eighth floor.
The moment the doors opened, four secretaries–one man and three women–looked up from their desks in the reception area. They all greeted Travis with professional smiles, but when they spotted Amanda at his side, their faces froze.
They glanced at each other, totally confused.
Why did Travis bring her here?
