Chapter 101 Sweet Blood Apology

Finished

The second Margaret let go, Andrew gasped for air, coughing so hard his shoulders shook-luckily, no blood came up this time.

She fixed her eyes on him, cold as steel but blazing with a wild, mad fire-like he was her most prized treasure, and someone had dared to touch it. “Andrew. Explain.” No room for argument in her voice.

Once he’d caught his breath, Andrew’s face smoothed out. He locked his eyes on hers. “Maggie, what kind of explanation are you after?”

He reached out, wanting to pull her into his lap.

But she dodged back, jabbing a finger at the other woman in the room. “Who’s she?” Short, sharp, and no beating around the bush.

His hand froze mid-air, then dropped. Andrew’s eyes dimmed, a sharper, colder edge creeping into his

aura.

Staring at his empty palm, a hollow, uncomfortable feeling gnawed at his chest.

He made another grab for Margaret’s soft, small hand. Again, she ducked away clean.

Maggie dares to brush me off?

A faint irritation flickered in Andrew, but he masked it. He shrugged casually. “That’s my aunt. Nothing going on between us.”

Margaret’s brows furrowed, surprise flitting across her face. “Aunt?”

“Mm.” He nodded, reaching for her soft hand once more. And once more, Maggie stepped back, out of his reach.

She turned to him, face frosty. “Why didn’t you say that earlier? You let me misunderstand on purpose, didn’t you?”

“Maggie, because I saw you jealous.” Andrew’s deep, magnetic voice washed over her-he never lied to her. “It made me happy. I like seeing you lose your temper because you care about me.”

She quirked an eyebrow, her tone teasing. “Even when I almost choked you to death just now?”

He held her gaze, just as dominant, just as overbearing. “Yeah. Even then.”

The two of them were like two sharp blades, clashing from across the room-neither willing to back down.

He reached for her again, trying to yank her into his arms. But she dodged, quick as a cat.

Andrew’s eyes darkened. A scowl of pure dissatisfaction crossed his handsome face.

Maggie’s actually been dodging me every single time!!

“Maggie. Get over here. Into my arms.” He was used to getting his way and used to ordering people around. After her repeated rejections, he snapped her name like a whip, his voice terrifying.

“No.” Just one word, cool and defiant.

Everyone else in the room shrank back, trembling under his rage. But Margaret stood her ground, even lifting her chin in a silent challenge.

“What do I have to do to make you stop being mad?” Andrew’s voice turned dark, irritation bubbling up. She wasn’t scared of him-not even a little.

“How about… you drink my blood?” He had no clue how to comfort a girl-he never had to. Women are such a hassle!

Margaret wanted to ignore him. But the scent of his blood was too tempting-sweet, rich, impossible to ignore. Dammit!

“Don’t want to.” Her heart wavered, but her delicate face stayed cold as stone, no hint of feeling.

“Fine. Don’t drink it then.” Andrew’s temper flared at her stubbornness. I’ve already swallowed my pride. What more does she want?

The air in the room turned thick, heavy with his anger. Everyone held their breath, terrified. Only Margaret stood tall and steady, unaffected by the storm brewing around her.

A few seconds passed, and Andrew cracked first. He grabbed her roughly, yanking her into his arms. “Okay, I was wrong. Happy now?”

It was the first time Andrew had ever apologized to anyone.

Walter, standing off to the side, was stunned silent.

Charlotte, clutching her injured side and watching Andrew’s every move, was just as shocked. Did I really see that?

Someone as cold, heartless, and self-centered as Andrew-apologizing to someone on his own accord?

Pressed against his chest, the scent of his blood grew stronger, thicker. The icy look on Margaret’s face softened, just a little.

Andrew noticed. A flicker of pride crossed his eyes. Seems like I need a bigger move to win Maggie over.

The next second, a small silver knife suddenly appeared in his hand.

The sharp blade-sharp enough to cut through iron-easily sliced his wrist. Bright red blood oozed from the wound. The sight, paired with his handsome face, was beautiful yet eerie.

Andrew showed no pain. He held his arm out in front of Margaret, his face expressionless. “Maggie, the blood’s here. Drink it if you want.”

Margaret’s eyes struggled. The smell of blood filled the air-irresistible.

Margaret had never been one to wrong herself. She wanted his blood now. So she would take it.

Then she bent down, grabbed his arm, and bit down on the wound.
