Chapter 108 Tease and Tension
Andrew’s eyes were stormy.
His Adam’s apple bobbed.
Seeing she’d stoked the fire in his chest, Margaret curled her lips into a triumphant, catlike smirk.
Then her seductive expression shifted-fast, abrupt, like a switch flipped.
Coldness and distance took its place, icy enough to freeze the air around her.
Her voice was frigid, sharp as a blade. “Andrew, keep dreaming. I’d never let you sink your teeth in.”
Andrew went silent.
The desire and light in his eyes snuffed out instantly, like a candle blown by a gust of wind.
His handsome face went rigid, jaw tight as a vice.

“Maggie, you suicidal little thing?” He’d been played-again. Andrew’s face darkened to storm-cloud black.
Watching him seethe, Margaret found it utterly amusing.
She couldn’t hold back a laugh-bright, unguarded. The cold indifference in her bones softened, just a little, in that moment.
Then she flipped back to pitiful, sniffling. “Andrew, you yelled at me…”
Andrew went silent again.
All his rage evaporated into thin air, gone without a trace.
Dol owe her a debt from a past life?
Darryl and Walter, in the driver’s and passenger’s seats, wore faces frozen in shock and confusion.
Has the script flipped on its head?
How could Mr. Mohler be teased by a girl?
Walter stole a quick glance at Andrew’s face in the rearview mirror.
Shit. That’s terrifying.
Back in the day, when Andrew looked like this, bodies would pile up. Countless bodies.

Charlotte sat imposingly, picking at her food like it bored her. She turned to an old man beside her, voice sharp and direct. “Mr. Wilder, did you catch which school that Maggie’s from? Her moves-they’re not
random.”
Standing next to Charlotte was a white-haired old man, fifty or sixty, his face crisscrossed with wrinkles. He was Adam Wilder.
There was no frailty in him-none at all. He exuded a raw, powerful aura, his eyes sharp as a hawk’s, alert and piercing.
Adam tore his gaze from the phone video and answered, voice gruff, “Every move that girl made was lethal -ruthless, decisive, no wasted motion. I can’t place her school.”
He paused, then added, “Her style looks self-taught-honed in countless life-or-death fights, summed up by blood and experience.”
At that, shock flashed in his eyes.
If that was true, then this girl’s talent was unparalleled-a once-in-a-lifetime prodigy.
Charlotte pressed again. “If you’d been there, what are your odds of beating her?”
Adam’s face turned grave, serious as a funeral. “Fifty-fifty. Maybe.”
This time, Charlotte was the one stunned. Adam in front of her was one of Karemin’s top powerhouses-yet even he couldn’t guarantee a win against Margaret.
That was terrifying. Downright terrifying.
“Haha! Wonderful! Fucking wonderful!” Charlotte laughed, loud and unbridled. “God’s finally on Andrew’s side, letting him meet a girl this outstanding. Looks like I’ll never have to worry about his safety again.
“The more I look at her, the more I like her. Bold, fierce-right up my alley. I love it!”
Charlotte stared at the girl in the video, eyes brimming with admiration-thoroughly, unreservedly satisfied with Margaret.
“Only downside? She’s that scumbag Edward’s sister! Does Edward deserve a sister this good? It makes my blood boil!”
Just then, Charlotte’s phone-lying on the table beside her-rang.
She picked it up and glanced at the screen. When she saw the familiar yet alien number, her pupils contracted.
Her eyes flooded with intense emotions-pain, resentment, hatred-all roiling just beneath the surface.
After a long, tense beat, Charlotte calmed. Her eyes turned cold as if those emotions had never existed.
She pressed answer, voice cold and distant, no warmth at all. “Mr. Tucker. What do you want?”
Silence. Thick, heavy silence on the other end.
Growing impatient with the silence, Charlotte snapped, cold as steel, “If you’re mute, don’t waste people’s

time with calls.”
She waited a few more seconds. Still nothing. Not a single sound.
“Edward! Are you dead?”
She yelled, then hung up hard. Her mood plummeted, dark and stormy.
On the other end of the line…

In a pitch-black office, Edward held the disconnected phone. His handsome, rugged face was etched with complexity-pain, longing, regret, all tangled together.
Just hearing her voice…is enough. It is good. So good.
An hour later…
The car pulled into Mohler Manor. As soon as they stepped out, Andrew’s hand clamped down on Margaret’s-tight, firm, like a shackle, afraid she’d slip away.
He ordered, voice domineering, no room for argument, “Maggie. You’re staying here tonight.”
Margaret broke into a bright, dazzling smile-seductive, teasing. She tilted her head, curious, but her tone was pure provocation. “Andrew, you gotta be clear. Do you want me to stay here… or share your bed?”
Andrew’s face darkened. Then he said, firm as stone, “Share the bed.”
Satisfied with his gloomy scowl, her smile deepened—like a siren luring sailors to their doom, seductive and deadly. “Andrew,” she purred. “I’ll do whatever you say…”
