Top Assassin with Superpowers Reborn novel Chapter 148

Margaret shot him a cold look, then spat out one word slowly, with no emotion in her voice. "Scram."

After that, Margaret stood up from her seat and headed out of the classroom.

Raymond still didn't give up and followed closely, pestering her again. "Maggie, where are you going now?"

Margaret's voice was icy. "To watch ground fireworks."

Raymond was confused, frowning. "Ground fireworks? It's broad daylight—where the hell are we gonna see fireworks?"

Confused as he was, Raymond still followed her out to the corridor.

The building opposite Margaret's classroom building was the 18-story one.

If anything fell from the top, you could see it crystal clear from here.

It was noon.

Everyone had just come back from the cafeteria—some were taking naps, some were walking around. Everything felt peaceful.

Then suddenly!!

Something kept falling from the roof of the 18-story building across the way!

"Someone's dead!"

"Oh my God! That's terrifying!!"

"Someone jumped off the building!"

Screams echoed everywhere.

The more timid girls scrambled back into their classrooms, too scared to even peek outside.

The scene was gruesomely spectacular!

Raymond saw it too. He was shocked at first, and then his first instinct was to step in front of Margaret, blocking her view with his body.

"Maggie, don't be scared. I'm here!"

He couldn't let Margaret see such a bloody, terrifying sight. She was a girl—she'd definitely have nightmares!

Margaret, her view blocked, pushed him away impatiently. Her voice was eerily calm, not the least bit frightened. "Move. Don't block my view of the scenery."

Raymond was stunned.

Scenery?!

She called this bloody mess scenery?!

Raymond couldn't help but lean out to take another look. Then he doubled over, a wave of nausea hitting him hard. "Ugh!!"

He couldn't hold it in anymore. He knelt by the trash can and vomited his guts out!

That sight was so damn disgusting!

He knew he'd have nightmares tonight!

She's a monster!

How could she stay so calm and composed at such a gruesome, bloody sight?

It's like she's seen this kind of brutality a million times—totally numb to it.

Not even the tiniest ripple stirs in her heart.

Everyone couldn't help but talk about it.

"Did you hear? The seven guys who died just now are part of Clara's fan club—they're the ones called the Seven Knights."

"I heard that too! Oh man, it's so scary. I heard their bodies were crushed to bits, and there's blood everywhere. I had to take the long way to the bathroom 'cause I didn't dare walk past there."

"Have you noticed? That's the same building where that girl Monica died three months ago."

"I noticed that too! And I also heard that Monica didn't kill herself because of stress. Word is, she was... raped... before she took her own life."

"Yeah, me too! I heard Monica's mom has been trying to report this, trying to find evidence, but someone's been covering it up. She came to the school a few times, but they thought she was crazy and ignored her."

"Ugh, Monica's family is so poor. I heard her dad's disabled, her mom's a street cleaner, and she has a mentally challenged brother. The whole family was counting on her to make it big."

"And the way these seven died is so weird..."

"Yeah, all seven at the same time? That's way too creepy, so eerie..."

People whispered and gossiped about the incident nonstop.

Margaret sat at her desk, holding the pink notebook in her hand.

This notebook belonged to Monica—she'd found it in the original owner's desk drawer.

It was from reading this notebook that Margaret learned there was more to Monica's death than met the eye.

It wasn't because of stress, as the official statement claimed. It was because of that horrific incident that she'd taken her own life.
