Chapter 36 Twisted Feelings
Andrew replied with an indifferent “Hmm.”
Walter was at a loss for words.
This guy really doesn’t care about his own life at all.
“Darryl, did you find what I asked for?”

When Andrew spoke again, the smile was gone from his lips. They pressed into a hard, cold line, and his eyes were dark pools of ice, void of any warmth.
“Yes, sir. I’ve got all the details.”
Even though a full day hadn’t passed yet, everyone around Andrew knew-when he said “a day,” he really meant half a day.
“Report.”
Darryl spoke like an emotionless machine. “Margaret Tucker, the eldest daughter of the Tucker family of Karemin. She was brought back to Capaville from the countryside by the Tuckers a year and a half ago.”
Walter’s eyes widened the second he heard that. “Andrew, so the girl you fell for at first sight is actually the Tucker heiress?”
Andrew didn’t keep up with the gossip in Capaville’s wealthy circles. His sharp brows lifted slightly, his eyes cold. “Is there a problem?”
“Andrew, that Tucker girl’s been the talk of Capaville’s elite for a year! Rumor has it she’s hickish, ugly, and spineless-nothing but an embarrassment to the Tuckers.”
Then he stared at Andrew in horror. Andrew’s already got mental issues-has his taste in women gone off the rails too? Everyone says she’s ugly, but he swears she’s beautiful…
Andrew fell silent at Walter’s words. A flash of light passed through his deep eyes.
Spineless? That little thing is the most arrogant, reckless, and ruthless person I’ve ever met.
Ugly? She’s the most gorgeous woman alive-total seductress.
Every move, every glance-she’s got me wrapped around her finger without even trying.
Andrew said nothing. Walter snuck a look at him and freze-there was a smile playing at his lips, like he was reminiscing about something wonderful.
Oh no, this is bad!
Andrew’s taste really is messed up! He’s fallen for an “ugly” girl at first sight!
Now Walter finally got it. All those stunning socialites had thrown themselves at Andrew before, but he’d never even glanced their way.
It wasn’t that those women weren’t beautiful-it was that they were too beautiful. They just didn’t fit Andrew’s weird taste.

Andrew suddenly muttered to himself, “Almost.”
Walter looked confused. “Almost what?”
Andrew’s eyes were dark and deep. His noble features were soft with infatuation and longing. “Before long, Maggie will be my wife.”
Goosebumps broke out all over Walter’s skin-from shock.
Of course a messed-up, twisted tycoon thinks totally different from normal people! They haven’t even started dating, haven’t even taken the first step-and he’s already going on about marriage…
And that sappy pet name…
Is this even the same Andrew? The heartless, brutal, short-fused, messed-up guy I know?
But Andrew’s next words made Walter shiver. The air around them turned icy cold in an instant.
“Find the human traffickers who sold Maggie overseas. Don’t kill them yet. I want to handle them myself.”
His tone was calm, like he was talking about something rivial.
But Walter, who knew Andrew well, understood just how cruel this man could be.
Those infamous “Ten Tortures” were child’s play compared to his methods.
He almost felt sorry for those traffickers.

Over at the Tucker Villa…
Night fell.
Margaret slipped into Clara’s room through the window. Clara’s room was on the third floor, but that height
scaled it as easily as walking up a flight of stairs.

Inside, Clara-still knocked out from the shock-lay on the bed.
Margaret didn’t even glance at her. She picked up Clara phone and turned on the screen. A password prompt appeared.
It was the most advanced, most expensive phone on the market.
This model had its own operating system, billed as the world’s most secure and private phone.
And it really was the most secure-because Margaret herself had programmed that system. Not even the best hackers could crack it easily.
Even Margaret would struggle to bypass its security in a short time.
But she had no intention of cracking it. She wasn’t stupi-nowadays, phones all used fingerprint or face ID.
She grabbed Clara’s hand from the bed and pressed her finger to the screen.
In seconds, the fingerprint unlock went through.

Margaret was sure Clara’s phone held clues about the human traffickers. But Clara was smarter than she looked-she’d deleted all call logs and messages.
But that didn’t stop Margaret. Retrieving deleted data from a system she’d built herself? Child’s play.
She tapped a few buttons on Clara’s phone. The screen flickered, and soon, all the deleted messages and logs were restored.
Sure enough, Margaret found the traffickers’ phone numbers there.
