Chapter 80 A Well-Deserved Beatdown

[Right? Clara’s so gross. She probably did it on purpose to ruin that girl’s reputation. What a snake!]

Comments like these flooded Twitter. The image she’d worked so hard to build in the entertainment industry was now stained beyond repair.

Clara gripped her phone so tight her knuckles whitened.

Her biggest dream was to break into showbiz-become a huge star, adored by millions. But now, this mess had destroyed her shot at that.

Matthew roared, “See that? Are you out of your mind? Why’d you kneel to Margaret for no reason? Don’t you have any shame?!”

It was the first time Matthew had yelled at her like this. Clara’s heart ached. She burst into tears. “Dad, I didn’t mean to kneel! It was all her fault-Margaret tricked me!”

Clara was furious. Her eyes red, she glared at Margaret, who was still eating calmly.

“It’s you! Margaret! You set me up!” She wanted to tear Margaret apart-slowly and painfully.

Clara had completely lost her “elegant lady” act. She raised her hand, ready to slap Margaret.

Margaret didn’t dodge. She just stared at Clara coldly-her eyes sharp as ice blades, deadly.

A playful smirk tugged at her lips. “Go ahead. Try touching me.”

Clara’s hand froze mid-air. Terror flooded her. Her body shook.

She felt cold-like she’d stepped into the deepest, darkest hell.

She knew if she dared to hit Margaret, she’d end up dead.

Margaret stood up. She sneered at Clara’s frozen form. “You’re too chicken to be a villain. Seriously?”

She stepped closer, her voice low and arrogant. “Slapping someone isn’t that hard. Want me to teach you?”

Before Clara could react, Margaret raised her hand and slapped her hard across the face.

Slap! Slap! Slap!

Margaret hit her again and again-harder than Matthew had.

Clara’s face swelled up instantly, red and puffy like a pig’s head.

“Ah! It hurts! Stop! Please stop!” Clara screamed, defenseless against the blows.

“Margaret! You hick! What do you think you’re doing? Hitting my daughter?!” Nichole’s eyes bulged. She was furious too.

“Shut

Margaret let go of Clara and marched toward Nichole-her aura intimidating. Without a word, she started slapping Nichole.

“Ah! Margaret! You hillbilly! How dare you hit me? I’m your father’s wife!

“It hurts! Stop!

“My tooth! Oh my god, my tooth hurts!”

Nichole’s screams were shrill enough to pierce eardrums.

Margaret didn’t hold back-she even knocked out two of Nichole’s teeth.

The living room turned into a total drama scene, filled with their cries.

Matthew watched, his face dark.

That ungrateful little brat’s got some nerve! She doesn’t even respect me as the head of this family!

His eyes blazing, he roared, “Margaret! Stop this now! Hitting your sister and stepmom right in front of me? Do you have any manners? Quit it!” He rushed over to stop her.

“You deserve a beating too.” Margaret didn’t flinch. She stared at Matthew coldly, then slapped him hard.

Her movement was quick, clean, and badass.

Matthew was stunned. His cheek burned.

He/glared at Margaret, his eyes bulging with rage-his face twisted in fury.

“You unfilial brat! How dare you hit me? Your own father?!”

His shout was loud enough to shake the roof.

“Why wouldn’t I?” Margaret hit him again. “This one’s for being blind!”

Another slap. “This for failing as a father!”

A third. “And this for being worse than an animal!”

She slapped him repeatedly. Matthew’s face turned red and swollen; blood dripped from his lip.

He was completely stunned-he couldn’t fight back at all.

When Margaret finally felt satisfied, she stopped. She grabbed some tissues from the table and wiped her hands in disgust-like they’d gotten dirty.

Her eyes were sharp as knives, her aura like an unstoppable queen.

She looked down at the three of them coldly.

“Remember this. This is just the start.”

Margaret Tucker AKA Lord Reaper

Chapter 81 PR Wars and Online Hate

Margaret turned and walked away-badass and graceful, her aura larger than life.

Maids scrambled out of her path, terrified of angering her.

Ms. Tucker has the guts to hit her own father, and she didn’t hold back one bit!

In the living room, Matthew, Nichole, and Clara were battered and bruised, their faces twisted with fury and humiliation.

Matthew had never been so humiliated in his life.

He glared at the maids around them. “Keep your mouths shut about this!”

If word got out that he’d been beaten by his daughter and couldn’t fight back, he’d be the biggest joke in Capaville.

Soon, the family doctor rushed over to treat their wounds. Clara and Nichole were still sniffling and sobbing.

“My… my teeth…” Nichole lisped-two teeth gone, her words muffled.

“Dad, what do we do about the internet?” Clara cried, looking to Matthew.

Matthew’s eyes were cold and fierce. “I’ll hire the best PR team to fix this.”

“Dad, what about… Margaret?”

Matthew’s face darkened with rage. “From now on, I don’t have such an unfilial daughter!”

Clara’s cheek throbbed, but she felt a secret thrill.

Dad totally writes that country bumpkin off now! From here on out, I’m his only daughter!

The next day, Matthew and the Millers used their connections to get the trending topics removed. They hired Karemin’s top PR team to fully spin the story for Clara and Michelle.

This team was legendary. Once, a male celebrity was caught cheating-solid proof, and everyone hated

him.

Then the team swung into action. They twisted black into white with brute force-the cheating celebrity, once reviled by the entire internet, was abruptly whitewashed into a paragon of virtue.

As for the female celebrity he’d cheated on? The same team dragged her through the mud so badly that she was lambasted by netizens everywhere. In the end, she couldn’t bear the cyberbullying and took her own life.

The scandal was still blowing up, so Clara and Michelle both skipped school, hiding at home.

They clung to their phones, monitoring online sentiment hour by hour.
