Rose didn’t understand why Oliver had suddenly come over just to take a jab at her.
She asked bluntly, "Who are you talking about? Who’s cheating?"
Oliver was momentarily caught off guard.
He hadn’t expected Rose to react so openly instead of feeling embarrassed.
Frowning, he cast a subtle glance toward Samantha.
In his opinion, Rose was being immature.
How could she not understand?
The person with something to hide was someone else entirely.
If the issue were brought into the open, who would dare answer it directly?
As for stealing someone else’s lover...
Samantha was doing it right out in the open.
Samantha felt a flicker of irritation.
Rose was clearly implying something about her.
The woman always seemed to speak in riddles, using underhanded insinuations that could never be openly acknowledged.
Ignoring Rose entirely, Samantha turned to Oliver.
"This is Mr. Mike," she said with a smile. "He’s very interested in my patient-guidance robot. Oliver, would you like to speak with him?"
She sounded completely confident.
After all, Oliver had passed on investing in G.S. and instead backed her project.
The Brown family’s influence carried considerable weight.
Once people saw Oliver investing, many were naturally willing to follow.
He was essentially her best advertisement.
She had no interest in dwelling on Rose’s earlier remarks.
Both Oliver and James were firmly on her side.
Why should she care what Rose said?
After all, she was busy building her project and advancing her career, while Rose remained trapped in petty romantic disputes and meaningless competition.
The two of them had nothing in common.
Only then did Oliver walk over.
Ryan gave Rose a lukewarm glance before turning away to answer a phone call.
He didn’t say a single word.
No one would ever guess they had once been married for seven years.
Caleb, who had known Rose since childhood, couldn’t stand seeing her treated this way.
"If the divorce certificate weren’t still in Ryan’s hands, if Ariel’s situation had already been settled, and if Rose exposed Samantha as the other woman right here and now, let’s see who’s still laughing."
But the Knight family had never shown mercy.
They seemed determined to wear Rose down little by little.
Rose would have liked to do exactly that.
Unfortunately, she had to be rational.
For now, the most important thing was pushing Ryan to finalize everything.
Meanwhile, Oliver had finished his conversation and successfully secured another investment for Samantha’s project.
Her smile grew even brighter. "Thank you for helping me so much."
Oliver waved it off. "It’s only natural. The Brown family still hasn’t repaid the favor you did for us. Of course I’m going to remember that."
Samantha carefully studied his expression.
Then she asked tentatively, "Did your grandfather say anything?"
"About what?"
Oliver paused before suddenly understanding. "He did, actually. You probably don’t know this, but Rose tried to take credit for saving my grandfather’s life. Grandpa called her out for it on the spot. As far as he’s concerned, Mrs. Knight’s reputation is already ruined."
A subtle change flashed across Samantha’s face.
She glanced at Oliver thoughtfully.
The pieces quickly fell into place.
Mathew had mistaken her for Mrs. Knight.
Meanwhile, Oliver had mistaken the real Mrs. Knight—Rose—for the woman trying to steal credit.
But Samantha had no intention of correcting the misunderstanding.
After all, it benefited her.
