Trick Him Into Divorce, Then Flee With His Unknow Kid novel Chapter 95

Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Asking Her Ex-Husband How to Win Her Over

For a brief moment, silence fell over the private room where soft music drifted through the air.

The atmosphere instantly turned strange.

Even Oliver, usually the most carefree person in the group, stopped smiling and stared at Jordan in disbelief.

Jordan wanted to pursue... Rose?

James couldn’t help furrowing his brow.

When Jordan had previously mentioned being interested in Rose, James had assumed it was merely a passing fascination.

He hadn’t expected things to escalate this quickly.

More importantly...

Jordan had actually said something so bold right in front of Ryan.

His gaze shifted to Ryan’s face.

Under the flickering lights, Ryan lowered his eyes and watched the ice cubes clink against the sides of his glass.

"I know her," he replied.

His tone revealed nothing.

Yet those three simple words carried far more meaning than they appeared to.

It wasn’t just that he knew her.

She had been his wife for seven years.

Samantha quietly studied Ryan and realized he wasn’t offended in the slightest by Jordan’s remark about wanting to sleep with Rose.

Only then did she raise an eyebrow and curl her lips into a smile.

Ryan truly didn’t care that other men desired Rose.

Jordan clinked glasses with Ryan and said frankly, "Part of the reason I came to L.A. was to get to know her. I remember you’ve had your share of trouble with her in the past, Mr. Knight."

Ryan, half-hidden in the dim lighting, lifted his chin slightly at the comment.

At Jordan’s mention of Rose, Oliver and James exchanged a subtle glance.

"I believe I told you before that Rose is a married woman, Jordan," James said, his expression complicated. "You really don’t need to make that kind of mistake."

The warning was subtle, but clear.

Naturally, he didn’t want Jordan getting involved with Rose.

First, Rose’s divorce hadn’t been finalized yet. For the time being, she was still Ryan’s wife.

Second, Jordan was obviously looking for nothing more than a fling.

No matter what, Rose was still Ryan’s wife. To speak of her so casually was, in a way, a slap in Ryan’s face.

Hearing James’s words, Samantha felt a flicker of displeasure.

She couldn’t shake the feeling that James was defending Rose, and that intuition struck her as oddly unsettling.

More importantly, by saying that, James was essentially acknowledging Rose as Mrs. Knight.

She didn’t want Ryan’s friends taking Rose seriously.

Jordan poured himself another glass of wine and said indifferently, "The last time she ended up at the police station, her husband didn’t even show up. When something goes wrong, she doesn’t turn to her husband for help. That tells me their marriage is superficial. She handles everything herself because she knows she can’t rely on him."

He took a sip of wine before continuing.

"Besides, Rose isn’t necessarily all that loyal to her husband. Mr. Knight should know that better than anyone."

His gaze landed on Ryan again.

After all, Rose had once tried to flirt with Ryan in private.

She clearly wasn’t devoted to her marriage.

Ryan glanced at him.

"Mr. Dutch, are you serious?" he asked calmly.

Jordan frowned slightly. "Not that serious."

Samantha lifted her cup and took a sip.

She remained silent, but amusement flickered in her eyes.

To put it bluntly, Jordan merely wanted to play with Rose.

Someone like Rose was only worth that much.

What difference was there between her and those women who were used for a night and then forgotten?

"Rose didn’t reject you?" Oliver asked, casting a subtle glance at Ryan. "What was her attitude toward you?"

In his opinion, Rose’s behavior was practically cheating.

Did she even remember she was Ryan’s wife?

"She came to L.A. because she agreed to go on a date with me. I’d hardly call that rejection."

Jordan glanced at his phone.

Rose had only recently unblocked him, so he immediately initiated a video call.

But she didn’t answer.

In fact, she hung up.

A trace of amusement flashed across Jordan’s eyes.

A woman with a little attitude wasn’t a bad thing.

If she were too easy, there’d be no challenge.

Unbothered, he called again.

Oliver didn’t realize Jordan was on a video call. Leaning closer to James, he whispered, "Has Rose lost her mind? Is she trying to make Ryan jealous?"

James’s eyes darkened.

He said nothing.
