“But don’t you go thinking that just because he’s going home, you can too. Your situations are completely different,” Arabella said, her gaze sharp with genuine concern.
“Yeah, I know. But look at me now–I’m in much better shape than when I was first admitted, right?” Edward replied earnestly.
“That’s true. If there was no improvement, wouldn’t that make me a terrible doctor?”
“Just focus on resting and recovering here for a while longer. Don’t even think about me signing your discharge papers right now. When the time is right, you won’t have to ask; I’ll handle everything for you,” Arabella urged, her tone patient but firm.
“Alright, I’ll listen to you.” Knowing Arabella only had his best interests at heart, Edward dropped the subject.
“By the way, did you ever talk to Robert about that job opportunity I mentioned last time?” Edward had kept her career situation in mind.
“Oh, that. I haven’t been at the hospital much lately, so I haven’t had the chance to bring it up yet,” Arabella said evasively, avoiding direct eye contact.
“Then you should hurry up and talk to him. Isn’t he getting discharged today? Once he’s gone, you’ll miss your window.
“Go to his room now and have a proper conversation with him,” Edward urged, sounding anxious. He really didn’t want her to miss this chance.
“It’s fine, really. I’ve already found a position at a different company. I don’t need to work here.” Arabella had to offer an excuse; otherwise Edward would keep pressing her.
Hearing this, Edward paused. “You found a new job? Where? Is it still in medicine?”
“It’s a bit different from clinical work, but it’s still in the healthcare sector. The salary and benefits are much better there,” Arabella reassured him.
“Really? Well, that’s good too. Making more is always a positive. We can’t offer you much support right now, so you have to rely on yourself. A higher income is definitely a plus.” Edward felt genuinely happy for her.
“You look a bit tired today. Did you stay up late? Edward noticed a slight redness in Arabella’s
eyes.
“Not at all. I’m full of energy,” Arabella insisted, er eyes deliberately bright.

Edward wasn’t convinced. He thought for a moment. “Did Harper and Dylan come bothering you again?”
“No, they haven’t shown their faces since the last time I dealt with them.” Arabella had no choice but to keep the truth from him. There was no way Edward could find out what they had done; it would only upset him terribly.
Edward studied her face. He couldn’t shake the feeling she wasn’t being entirely truthful. Even though her tone was convincing, a nagging sense of unease lingered.
“That’s good. If they ever do cause trouble, you must tell me. I’ll handle them,” Edward said with protective affection.
“Don’t worry about me. I’m not someone who gets pushed around. You saw what happened last time–they’re no match for me.” Arabella wore a proud, confident expression. This time, she was determined to make Harper and Dylan deeply regret their actions.
“Hey, why don’t you change your clothes? I’m taking you out for some fresh air.” Arabella wanted to get him out of the hospital for a bit.
“No need to change. These are fine for being in the hospital.” Edward didn’t realize she meant outside the hospital.
Arabella smiled. “I’m not talking about the hospital courtyard. I mean outside. Off the premises.”
“Oh, outside! I thought you meant the courtyard Okay, wait for me, I’ll go change.” With that, Edward grabbed a fresh set of clothes and headed for the bathroom.
“You can change right here. I’ll wait for you in the hallway.
“And make sure you dress to impress!” Arabella gave a light, encouraging laugh before stepping out of the room.
Soon, Edward emerged, looking noticeably sharper.
Seeing his stylish outfit, Arabella couldn’t help but praise him. “Not bad at all. Very handsome. You’ll definitely turn some heads out there.”
“Oh, stop teasing me.
“I just don’t dress like this normally. I’m in a good mood today, so I thought I’d switch it up.” Edward smiled.
“I’d suggest you stick with this style. It really suit you.”
“Just looking at you makes me feel happier.” Arabella’s eyes were warm with affection.

“You always know the right thing to say. Fine, I’ll take your advice and dress like this from now on.” Edward felt a genuine glow of happiness from her compliment.
“Alright, let’s go.” Arabella smiled.
“Where are we heading?” Edward asked as they walked down the hall.
“What’s the first place that comes to your mind right now?” Arabella asked, looking into his
eyes.
After a moment’s thought, Edward answered, “The beach.”
“Okay, then the beach it is.” Arabella decided instantly.
“Really? I haven’t been to the beach in so long.” Edward’s eyes lit up with a mix of excitement and disbelief.
Due to his chronic health issues in the past, his family had always been overly cautious, fearing he’d catch a chill. He’d wanted to go for years but never had the chance.
“Of course. If you want to go to the beach, then we’re going to the beach.” Arabella looked at him with certainty.
“But with my current condition…” Edward began his old worries surfacing.
Arabella knew what he was about to say and gently cut him off. “It’s fine. I know your condition better than anyone. You’ve got to trust my medical judgment, right?”

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
