“So… that’s all?” Andy asked tentatively.
A slight, cool smile touched Arabella’s lips. “Thank you for looking into it.”

She then turned her attention to Matthew. “Mr. Stewart, now that I’m informed, if there’s nothing further, I’ll take my leave.”
With the information in hand, she could manage the next steps herself.
Matthew raised an eyebrow slightly. “What do you intend to do?”
He was certain Arabella wasn’t the type to let something like this slide, and he was curious about her approach.
Arabella shrugged lightly. “Nothing specific at the moment.”
Nevertheless, she had no intention of letting Dylan and Harper get away with it.
“If you have no plan, then I will handle it,” Matthew stated bluntly.
Arabella looked surprised. “You’re going to intervene, Mr. Stewart?”
“Is there an issue with that?” he countered.
“You helped me that day, and I’m grateful. But I still believe it’s unnecessary for you to expend effort on misonal matters.” She felt perfectly capable of handling it herself.
Matthew’s gaze darkened a fraction. “They damaged my car.”
The corner of Arabella’s mouth twitched. Well, when you put it that way…
“I’ll ensure your damages are addressed as well,” Arabella said.
Seeing her resolve, Matthew could only acquiesce. “Very well, I’ll await the outcome.”
“Dr. Hamilton, if you require any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me,” Andy offered.
Arabella gave a brief nod. “Mm.”
“Knock, knock.”
The door opened before a response was given.

“You stubborn boy, every time i try to talk about your future, you Robert barged in, halting mid–sentence the moment he saw Arabella His eyes widened, and his stern expression melted into one of pure delight. “Dr. Hamilton! What a wonderful surprise!”
“Robert,” Arabella greeted him, her expression softening.
“Oh dear, am I interrupting?” Robert asked, putting on a convincingly apologetic look
Arabella found it both amusing and exasperating. “Not at all.”
Robert’s eyes darted between the two of them before settling into a knowing smile. “What were you two discussing?”

“Business,” Matthew replied, his tone flat.

Robert shot him a dismissive glance before turning his full, beaming attention back to Arabella. “Just business, Dr. Hamilton?”
“Yes,” Arabella confirmed with a nod.
“In that case, please, don’t mind me. Carry on. I’ll just wait over here,” Robert said, making a show of heading toward the luxurious leather sofa in the corner.
“Robert,” Arabella called, stopping him.
He paused and looked back, his eyes crinkling with a smile. “Yes, my dear?”
“Mr. Stewart and I have concluded our discussion. I was just leaving, so there’s no need for you to wait on my account,” Arabella explained politely.
Robert looked genuinely disappointed. “Leaving so soon? Can’t you stay a little longer?”
“I’m afraid not,” Arabella said, shaking her head with a polite smile.
“Well, alright then,” Robert conceded, though not without a final attempt. “Perhaps you’d join an old man for lunch?”
Arabella instinctively declined. “That’s kind, but I’ve already made plans to have lunch with my brothers”
Aware of Robert’s not–so–subtle matchmaking intentions, she thought it prudent to avoid any unne with Matthew.
Hearing this, Robert didn’t press further. “Another time, then.”
“Of course. Goodbye, Robert,” Arabella said courteously.
“Goodbye, Dr. Hamilton.” Robert nodded warmly.
Arabella then turned to Matthew and gave a brief, professional nod of farewell.
“Drive safely, Dr. Hamilton,” Matthew said.
“Thank you,” she replied before exiting the office.
The moment the door closed, Robert fixed Matthew with a stern look. “Must you be so passive?”
“Passive about what?” Matthew asked, his expression unreadable.
Bentanglement
“You know perfectly well what!” Robert retorted, exasperated. “First, you weren’t interested in Naomi, and now you’re just as indifferent toward Dr. Hamilton? What could possibly be wrong with her?”
Matthew was silent for a beat before stating. “There’s nothing wrong with her ”
“She’s accomplished, from a good family, and you still-“Robert cut himself off, his train of thought derailing as he processed. Matthew’s words. He looked at his grandson as if seeing him anew. “What did you just say?”
Had he heard that correctly? Was the boy finally coming to his senses?
“If you think so highly of her, why on earth didn’t you ask her to lunch?” Robert complained.

“She said she had prior plans,” Matthew replied calmly.
Robert waved a dismissive hand. “So what? It’s just the Hamilton brothers. It’s not as if you don’t know them.”
He could have invited himself along–after all, they might all be family one day.
The thought struck him, and a gleam appeared in Robert’s eye. “That’s right! You could have gone with her!”
“Gone where?” A familiar sense of foreboding settled in Matthew’s chest.

“To have lunch with them, of course!” Robert said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “We’ll all be connected sooner or later. It’s good to build rapport.”
Matthew immediately felt the beginnings of a headache. He pinched the bridge of his nose. “Grandfather, I have a very full schedule.”
“You always have an excuse when the topic of settling down comes up,” Robert grumbled, fixing Matthew with a stern glare. “We’ll set Naomi aside for now, but if you let an opportunity with someone like Dr. Hamilton slip through your fingers, you’ll have no one to blame but yourself for the regret.”
“Mr. Robert Stewart,” Andy interjected cautiously, seeing an opening. “Mr. Stewart has a strategy meeting beginning shortly. Would you prefer to wait here? I can have some coffee brought in, and you can resume your… conversation after the meeting?”
Robert let out a theatrical huff. “Fine. I’ll wait.”
Andy was momentarily taken aback. “You… you’re really going to stay, sir?”
“Was that not your suggestion?” Robert said, his tone suddenly sharpening with mock offense. “Or were you just trying to placate
me?”

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
