Arabella glanced at the box and raised an eyebrow. “That really isn’t necessary. Ruby already told us Naomi had nothing to do with what happened.”
“But Naomi insisted she won’t feel right unless you accept it,” Florence pressed gently.
Hearing that, Arabella gave a slight nod. “Alright then. I’ll accept the sentiment, but I’d like to pass the gift on to you, Mom.”
“Oh, sweetheart–why give it to me?” Florence sounded surprised.
“Just take it, Mom,” Ethan chimed in.
Frank added, “Consider it Arabella’s gesture too.”
“But this was meant for Arabella from Naomi.” Florence still felt it was a little awkward to keep it herself.
“It’s all in the family,” Arabella said casually as she opened the velvet case. Inside lay a diamond–studded bracelet, glittering under the light. “It’s absolutely stunning, but it would just get in the way while I’m working.”
With that, she slipped the bracelet directly onto Florence’s wrist. “Looks beautiful on you, Mom.”
Frank and Ethan nodded in agreement. “It really does suit you. Don’t you think, Dad?”
Jonathan took a look and smiled. “It does look lovely. Since Arabella can’t wear it at work, you should keep it. It’s a kind gesture from the kids.”
So Florence had little choice but to wear it.
“Mom, really–don’t worry. There’s no bad blood between me and Naomi,” Arabella reassured her warmly.
The day before, she had assumed Naomi was just making excuses to win her parents‘ forgiveness. She hadn’t expected her to actually humble herself, own up to her mistakes, and make amends properly.
Truth be told, the reason her parents forgave Naomi so easily had a lot to do with Arabella herself. The thought warmed her from within, and her eyes softened with a quiet smile.
“Alright, let’s eat,” Jonathan announced, and the family settled around the table, chatting and

laughing through breakfast.
Once the meal was over, everyone went their separate ways for the day.
On the road, Arabella called Colton.

“We’ll take the Horizon Corp project, but during negotiations, push for it to be a collaborative collection,” she instructed.
Colton was taken aback. “Only you would think of that!”
A collaborative collection with Horizon Corp would elevate their brand from a niche luxury label to one targeting the high–end market.
“We’re not just working for Horizon Corp. We need to secure better terms for ourselves too,” Arabella replied calmly.
“Got it. Loud and clear. I’ll head into the negotiations,” Colton said, then paused. “But what if they refuse? What’s our bottom line?”
“They’ll agree,” Arabella said simply.
“I mean… just in case?” He needed to know his limits.
Arabella’s reply was brief. “Then no deal.”
“Alright, understood. I’ll make sure we land it,” Colton affirmed.
“Good. I’ll be waiting for your update,” Arabella said.
“You can count on me!” Colton replied, perhaps a little too eagerly.
Arabella ended the call and focused on the drive ahead.
Soon, she pulled into the pharmaceutical company’s lot.
“Ms. Hamilton, the Phase One results are in!” Bruce couldn’t wait to share the news as soon as he spotted her.
Seeing his excitement, Arabella nodded approvingly. “Well done.”
“All thanks to your guidance, Ms. Hamilton. We wouldn’t have made this much progress this fast without you.” Bruce looked at her with genuine respect.
“How’s Phase Two shaping up? Any issues so far?” Arabella asked.

“The team’s already on it. No problems reported yet,” Bruce answered.
“Good. If anything comes up, you know where to find me,” she said.
“Yes,” Bruce responded.
“Alright, get back to it then,” Arabella said, and Bruce gave a quick nod before hurrying off.
Once settled in her office, Arabella turned to Chloe. “Please send this to production. They need to meet the quality standards and deliver on schedule.”
She handed over a file as she spoke.
“Right away,” Chloe replied before stepping out.
Arabella leaned back in her chair, mentally running through the day’s tasks, when her phone buzzed.
Seeing Brielle’s name, she answered with mild surprise. “Brielle, what’s up?”
“Arabella, I’m so sorry,” Brielle began, her voice tinged with frustration.
“What’s wrong?” Arabella asked, wondering why an apology was the first thing out of her mouth.
“My dad couldn’t help after all. Those jerks Harper and Dylan got released anyway,” Brielle said, clearly upset.
Arabella raised an eyebrow slightly. “They’re out already?”
Actually, it had taken longer than she’d expected. What had the Johnstons and Freya been doing all this time?
“What do you mean, Arabella? I think they should’ve been locked up for good,” Brielle grumbled.
Arabella couldn’t help but chuckle. “What they did was wrong, but not life–sentence wrong.”
“Still, they shouldn’t have gotten out this soon,” Brielle insisted. She’d asked her father to keep an eye on the situation, but it hadn’t changed the outcome.
“Brielle, it actually took a while. I’m sure your dad had people looking into it–that’s what delayed things,” Arabella explained. Otherwise, they would’ve been out much earlier.
“Really?” Brielle sounded unsure. Had her dad actually helped after all?

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
