"Don't worry, I've got it under control," Arabella reassured Ethan.
Ethan got to his feet. "I'll head out now."
"Where to?" Arabella asked casually.
"To see Edward," Ethan replied, just as casually.
Arabella looked puzzled. "You're going to see Edward? Is something up?"
"Weren't you the one who asked me to keep an eye on him?" Ethan shot back, half-amused, half-exasperated.
"Oh, right. That's true," Arabella said. "Then I'll come along. I haven't seen him in a few days anyway."
Ethan pretended to be offended. "You don't trust me not to give him a hard time, do you?"
"Of course not," Arabella said with a light laugh. "It's on the way, and I get a free ride. Win-win."
"Alright, that's more like it," Ethan said, satisfied. "Let's go."
"Sure," Arabella agreed, following him out.
Soon, the two arrived at Macdonald Capital.
"Arabella, Mr. Hamilton—what brings you here?" Edward said, clearly delighted to see them.
Ethan tossed a folder onto Edward's desk. "This is for you."
"What is it?" Edward opened it curiously. When he saw it was a project proposal, he hesitated. "This is...?"
"An investment opportunity with Eastwood Holdings. I put in a word for you. You'll need to prepare the pitch," Ethan explained.
Edward froze, looking as if he couldn't quite believe it. "I tried meeting their CEO before—couldn't even get past the front desk."
Holding the document now, he felt like he was dreaming.
"Don't overthink it. Eastwood Holdings isn't as solid as they pretend to be. They're already starting to slip—that's why they want someone they trust running the show. They didn't know you, so of course they brushed you off," Ethan said calmly.
"You've got this, Edward. I know you can handle it," Arabella chimed in encouragingly.
Ethan added, "If anything's unclear, just ask. I'll help however I can."
"Thank you, Mr. Hamilton," Edward said, genuinely moved.
He'd tried so hard before with no luck, and here Ethan had sorted it with what seemed like a single call.
"Don't mention it. I'm doing this because you're Arabella's brother. It's only right," Ethan said, glancing toward Arabella. "I promised her I'd look out for you. Can't go back on that now."

Goodness, what am I even thinking?

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
