"Kindwell Hospital is one of the top facilities in Doranor City, Mr. Lawson. You shouldn't doubt yourself like that." If she were to partner with anyone, Kindwell would be her first pick.

"With anyone else, I'd be confident, but you're..." the legendary Dr. Aletta, he almost said.

Arabella shook her head lightly, still smiling. "I'm just a doctor, same as you."

Thinking she preferred to keep a low profile, Orion nodded along. "Right. Just an ordinary doctor."

But in truth, Arabella genuinely saw herself that way—a physician committed to her duty, never one to walk away from what she owed her patients.

"Arabella, ready to head out?" Ethan knocked gently on the doorframe.

"All set," she replied, then glanced back at Orion. "I'll see you later."

With that, she stepped out of his office.

"Ethan." She greeted him with a warm smile.

Ethan looked at her fondly. "Heard everything went smoothly."

"Naturally," Arabella said, tilting her chin up playfully.

The Johnstons might have thought they had her figured out, but she knew Dylan's weak spots just as well.

"You're something else, Arabella," Ethan remarked, his praise sincere.

Arabella flashed a teasing grin. "Do I get a reward, then?"

"Name it," Ethan said, as if ready to give her anything.

"How about a nice dinner?" she suggested, raising a brow.

"You've got it. A proper dinner—you deserve it after today."

They made their way out together, and Arabella filled Ethan in on Aaron's situation and the new clinical trial partnership with Kindwell.

"Those are all big wins," Ethan said, clearly impressed. "You managed to pull off quite a lot in one day."

"Mostly luck." She shrugged. She really hadn't put in much effort—things just fell into place.

Ethan didn't buy it. His expression turned a bit more serious. "Luck favors the prepared. If you weren't capable, those opportunities wouldn't have come your way."

Arabella thought it over, then nodded slowly. "You know, that actually makes sense."

"Of course it does. I don't say things that don't make sense," Ethan replied, a hint of pride in his tone.

"Ethan, it just occurred to me—if you weren't in finance, you could've gone into philosophy," she teased.

Ethan shook his head, chuckling. "Nah, I'll stick with money."

Arabella paused, then laughed. "Same here."

They shared a look and both broke into light laughter.

There was nothing she could do but stand by and watch Dylan get cornered.

"No, I need to look into this," Zack said suddenly, getting to his feet.

"Where are you going?" Sarah called after him.

"To find out more about Arabella," he tossed back as he headed out.

"He left this afternoon. Started digging into your background, but didn't seem to find what he wanted. Then he reached out to a bunch of contacts—mostly medical professionals. From what I gathered, he's asking for medical advice or treatment options." Something felt off about it.
