Looking at Naomi, who was now clinging to composure, Matthew knew that pushing harder might only make things worse.
If Naomi went back to see his grandfather again, then this entire meeting would have been pointless. Worse, it would upset Robert, which was the last thing his health needed.
Besides, he didn’t want to damage the Stewart family’s long–standing ties with the Hamiltons over this.
Although he had initiated the end of the arrangement, he hadn’t expected Naomi to be so deeply attached. It seemed he would need to find another way to handle the situation.
With that in mind, Matthew softened his tone slightly. “Alright. Let’s both take some time and space, then.”
Hearing his concession, Naomi felt a wave of relief. “Okay.”
She knows how to keep the door open even when things look bad. That’s the Hamilton upbringing. Ruby thought, quietly impressed.
If it were her, she probably would have fled the scene by now.
“Let’s eat,” Matthew said, noting Naomi’s subdued expression.
He’d been tied up at the office and missed lunch. He was hungry now.
The meal passed in near silence. Matthew didn’t speak a word.
When it was over, he simply stood, got into his car, and drove away.
Naomi and Ruby could only watch, stunned. He’d really just left like that…

Back at Cloudrise Manor, Florence was resting in the living room when she heard the distinct sound of rotor blades. She sat up. “Who’s arriving?”
“Mrs. Hamilton, the men outside say they’re delivering a helicopter for Mr. Frank Hamilton,” a

staff member informed her.
Florence rose and looked out the window. “Did Frank order a helicopter?”
“It appears so.”

Puzzled, Florence picked up her phone and called Frank. “Frank, did you arrange for a helicopter delivery?”
Frank knew immediately the delivery had arrived. “Yes. I’ll be right down.”
He wondered if his sister had rested well.
Soon Frank entered the living room and nodded approvingly at the sight outside.
Florence looked at him, confused. “Frank, why buy a helicopter the moment you’re back? Don’t you already have one?”
“It’s not for me. It’s for-”
Just then, Arabella came downstairs.
Seeing her, Florence walked over warmly. “Arabella, did you rest well?”
“Yes,” Arabella replied with a nod.
“Mom, there isn’t an airfield nearby, is there? Why do I hear a helicopter?” Arabella asked, sounding a little bewildered.
“Frank bought it,” Florence said.
“Frank…” Arabella’s brow furrowed slightly.
Florence nodded with an affectionate smile.
When Frank saw Arabella, his eyes brightened.
Just as Florence had said–Arabella had her mother’s striking looks, refined further by her own distinct grace.
She’s unmistakably a Hamilton.
Now he was certain no paternity test was needed. One look was enough.
Frank approached Arabella with a warm smile. “I’m Frank.”

Arabella looked at him, noticing a resemblance to Alfred, and knew this must be her eldest brother Florence had spoken of.
“Frank…” she said, the address feeling a little unfamiliar.
She’d only gone upstairs for a short nap. How was Frank already home?
“Arabella, since it’s our first meeting and I wasn’t sure what you’d like, I took the liberty of ordering a helicopter for you. I hope it’s to your taste,” Frank said casually.
“A helicopter?” Arabella was momentarily speechless.
What did Frank do for a living? Giving a helicopter as a first–meeting gift? Was there a private gold mine she didn’t know about?
A look of pleased surprise appeared in Florence’s eyes. “So the helicopter is for Arabella. That explains it.
“Arabella, come with me to see if you like it,” Florence said, taking her daughter’s hand and leading her outside.
Arabella stepped out onto the front portico. On the estate’s private helipad sat a sleek,
elegantly designed helicopter, its smooth lines gleaming under the sun. The initials “AH” stood out boldly on its side.
The rotor blades, now still, caught the light, giving the machine an exciting, almost joyful presence—the kind that made people want to claim it as their own.
