"That's better," the person on the line said, sounding satisfied before hanging up.
Naomi set the phone down. Her expression was tense, etched with anger and resentment.
The room fell silent.
Matthew glanced up at the clock. The hands read eleven.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose, stood, and walked back to his bedroom.
Just as he sat on the edge of the bed, his eyes fell on a folded blouse left beside the nightstand.
Frowning slightly, he recognized it as the one Naomi had worn earlier.
He picked it up, tossed it into the trash, then stood and made his way to the bathroom.
After a quick shower, he emerged with his usual calm, steely gaze restored.
He picked up his cell and dialed Andy.
"Any progress on the investigation?" Matthew asked, his voice low.
"There's definitely someone behind this, but we haven't pinpointed them yet," Andy replied.
Matthew wasn't surprised. If no one were interfering, the online rumors would have been contained hours ago.
"Keep digging," Matthew said, his tone growing colder.
"The team's still on it," Andy assured him.
After a pause, Matthew added, "Put the word out that I stayed at a hotel last night."
"Got it," Andy said. "Once that gets around, this whole thing should die down."
"Yeah," Matthew replied before ending the call.
Over at Andy's place, he relayed the instructions immediately.
"I'll post it now," the person on the other end responded.
"Have some accounts boost it, keep an eye on the online chatter, and nudge the narrative if needed," Andy added.
"Don't worry, I know the drill."
Hanging up, Andy let out a slow breath.
"This should settle soon... but whoever's behind it..." In theory, tracking them down shouldn't be hard—so why were they still in the dark?
"Unless they know our operations well enough to cover their tracks in advance," Andy muttered. Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind, and his expression shifted.
"This doesn't have anything to do with Naomi, does it?" Andy's voice dropped to a murmur, a chill running down his spine. "Would she really go that far?"
Slightly stunned and hesitant, Andy felt a twist of unease.
The next morning, the sky was overcast.

The readers' comments on the novel: True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella)
Update please...
I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
